People have been swooning over Spock since the 60s, where have you been?
Also, I guess I'm the only one that watches with subtitles on, because her name is "Jurati" and the point of her singing like that was the Borg Queen was showing her how she could help her overcome her shyness. Interesting bit of trivia from The Ready Room, the original script had her singing Feeling Good by Nina Simone but the actress felt that a white, blond actress singing a song about black liberation wouldn't feel right.
I do think it's weird that Q has lost some of his powers, but I'm willing to see where the story goes with it. It's not the first time it's happened if you'll recall, TNG did an pretty good episode about it. Maybe we'll find out it's Wesley as the Traveler trying to protect this point in history.
I thought it was an okay episode, a little short, but had some good plot pivot points. Only two more to go, so I think it had to move some chess pieces into place so the story suffered a bit. But I'll agree it's odd that they're not making more of his android body except for how it shorted out the defibrillator.

Picard is a 10 episode season, not 8.

I'm well aware that Spock was a minor sex symbol back in the 60s but they're starting out that way. It was not really all that overt on TOS.
As most of us speculate it's another Kurtzman show so it will probably be shit.

I missed that, so it does seem an odd place to have an episode like this.
Again, you're really underselling it. The fanzines and whatnot from the era were all about Spock and how many women were attracted to him. SNW starting out with this is simply acknowledging what people have known for years.

It has been a while since I watched S1, but again, face blindness. I have to see actors in something for many, many episodes several times before I would recognize them in something else, and then if they're wearing a different hairstyle or have a mustache, then forget it.
And bit players? Like all these people that say they recognize actors that do 1 episode here, 1 there, 1 over there, and ya'll go, "hey, it's Willie Wilkerson! Famous bit part actor!" and I'm like "you're making that up".

Yeah, the higher budgets of modern Trek has made it clear many of the crew love old stuff like this. Tom Paris liking cheesy mid-20th century sci-fi flicks is proof of that. Also, the use of the Beastie Boys in the Abrams films.
The other thought is that that the Borg queen was able to access it via wi-fi and the Agnes part agreed to it.
And I have to say I'm not seeing many of the criticisms that you all are. The story is a bit goofy at times, but it's a neat concept and I'm enjoying this season a lot. I saw someone on twitter saying the ICE subplot seemed out of place, and I'm like "that's literally the point of the story and Star Trek overall", the idea of governments using fascist police groups to control minorities.
I'm looking forward to SNW also, but this has been a fun ride with Picard this season and I have good hopes for S3 too.
