Survivor Season 42 Premieres 3/9/22
The cast for Season 42 of CBS’ Survivor has been revealed, and the 18 castaways’ ages range from 19 to 58, while their occupations include data scientist, stay-at-home dad, seminary student, retired firefighter and pageant coach.
Arriving Wednesday, March 9 at 8/7c with a two-hour premiere, Survivor Season 42 promises to deliver “one of the most intense versions” of the Emmy-winning competition series yet, bringing back risky beware advantages, delivering game-changing twists and coming at “a relentless pace that will push these castaways to their limits.” https://tvline.com/lists/survivor-se...-wurtenberger/
As in Season 41, the 18 players (detailed below) players will be divided into three tribes of six as they face “a faster, more extreme season from the moment they step foot on the beach” and until one outwits, outplays and outlasts the others to claim the title of Sole Survivor and win the $1 million prize.

Watched this show religiously since the very beginning but skipped the last season entirely. Maybe I'll come back. The Australian Survivor did a good job of scratching that itch though.

A bit of eye candy, especially Tori Meehan, who looks great in that promo picture. In fact, if a show/film cast someone who looked like her as a therapist, you just know there would be a storyline where one of her patients becomes obsessed with her.
ETA: I have been wanting to check out the Australian version of Survivor ever since some folks on-line started singing its praises several years back, and I keep forgetting that Paramount + offers a handful of seasons for us U.S. viewers to watch, will try to remember to start up a season this weekend.

I really hope they avoid all the convoluted gimmicks from last season, but since they shot these seasons back to back, I fear the worst.

Jackson should never have been allowed on the show. Someone with a mood disorder, off their meds is a danger to themselves and others. They need to do a better job screening the contestants.

I was unfortunately coming by this thread to note that for a therapist she is clueless on how to read her castmates, just no game at all. Yes, she is a looker but dang, I am pretty sure she will be voted out soon or maybe the remaining castmates think they can tolerate her a bit longer and assume she has no chance of winning the big prize so they keep her around for a few more TCs. Also, interesting that Jeff seems to have said oh well, we got this far without realizing we should have kicked him from the show for medical reasons so they let the guy play for a couple days then pulled him.
I wonder if they will take legal action against him, nice guy or not, he really should have disclosed prior to getting to the island. The publicity would look bad for CBS but I could see a suit being really ticked at the guy for holding back important info regarding his health.
ETA: Windom, while her reaction is over the top, think about her reaction when Jeff asked her what it was like to be on the show at the opening of the show, it seems to be who she is. Heightened emotional outbursts aside, she seems like a solid team player who is willing to put in the work and help her tribe try and succeed. Like Dalton, I like her as a contestant.

She isn't that much of a looker. Certainly attractive, but not nearly enough to ignore the dimwitted, befuddled, deer in the headlights countenance she had the whole time. And she talks like a teenager. I can't imagine taking her seriously as any type of professional.

Interview with Jackson about being pulled from the game

He was already having dizzy spells and things could've gotten worse if he stayed.

Jackson lied to them about his medical history until two days before the show started, so I'm not sure what they could have done. In a non-COVID season, they would have just replaced him with an alternate before the show started, but I assume they didn't have any alternates that had been in quarantine for two weeks.

It usually takes me three or four episodes to hate someone on Survivor, but damn, Tori, you nailed it out of the box. What an awful person - this show is NOT going to be good for her business.

I actually kinda feel sorry for her and those like her. I have run across a handful over the years. They are professionals and may very well be smart and good at what they do, but they have not lost the teenager/college student way of talking and carrying themselves, and it kills their credibility. I guess you just have to be aware of how you sound and be able to switch it on and off depending on the audience. I certainly do not speak the same way in a business meeting that I do when I am with my buddies.

I wonder if it was going to be a double elimination before the Jackson thing. Looking at how that Immunity idol "broke apart into two", my guess is that it was.
