Re: Bob Saget dead at 65

Head Trauma was the cause of death.

“The authorities have determined that Bob passed from head trauma,” his family said in a statement, per E! Online. “They have concluded that he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it and went to sleep. No drugs or alcohol were involved. https://tvline.com/2022/02/09/bob-sa...topsy-results/

Michael Hogan from Battlestar Galactica had something similar happen except that he lived after emergency surgery. Hogan was in Vancouver participating in a Battlestar Galactica convention when he fell and hit his head during dinner. He went to bed that night not realizing that he'd suffered a traumatic head injury, which resulted in a massive brain bleed. Hogan required emergency surgery and the accident left him with complete paralysis on his left side, as well as memory loss, cognitive impairment and an inability to swallow.

I think that’s even worse.

Isn't this how Liam Neeson’s wife died.
She hit her head while skiing and then went in a plane.

She hit her head and was flown to a hospital after getting a severe headache a couple hours later. She was 2.5 hours away from the nearest trauma center which exacerbated things.

Even more tragic. Makes you wonder what could have happened. Slipping getting out of the shower or just momentary loss of balance. Crazy.

unless there's some blood on the edge of a table or bathtub how can you definitively say his death was "accidental"? hmmmm?

They may have had witnesses, or did scans and saw what the trauma actually was. It's up to the family to reveal what they want.

This whole head trauma thing sounds awfully suspicious. I'm sorry, it just does.

Re: Bob Saget dead at 65

He was 65. I'm 53, and every now and then I'll get dizzy and lose my balance. Not real often, but I just keep on walking, assuming I'll be fine and won't fall down. I can see something, anything, where you have an accident at 65 and hit your head. The older you get, the more often you lose your balance and fall down. My dad's 79 and he's been falling down 3 or 4 times a year for about 5 years. Fortunately, he's never gotten badly hurt - but that's partly luck and partly good enough reflexes to put his hands out as he's falling. But if you fall backwards?

Point is, if there were any indication of foul play or something suspicious there would be some report of that. There hasn't been.

This was just a tragic accident.

Re: Bob Saget dead at 65

Years ago my girlfriend's horse headbutted me and I feel backwards and hit the back of my head (at least we think that is what happened, no one actually saw it). I suffered memory problems. Went to urgent care. They referred me to the ER for a CATscan to check for brain bleed. Negative on that but I started to slowly regain memory. I was told not to fall asleep for a few hours.

Not sure why. It's pretty common, though he is a a few years younger than most I've known (but as someone else said, he could be on medication that made it worse).

Also know somebody that was paralyzed when they fell while getting dressed. We're weirdly both incredibly durable and incredibly fragile.

Re: Bob Saget dead at 65

William Holden went out in the same way, sort of. He was a known alcoholic. He got drunk and stumbled, hitting his forehead on table. He was cut and bleeding. Story goes he was too embarrassed about it, didn't want it to get out that he was falling down drunk, so he didn't call for help or seek medical attention. He just bled out externally. They think it took 30 minutes for him to lose consciousness. Was 2-3 days before somebody found him. He was 63.

Are you suggesting this was something more? I'm genuinely curious. I don't know why not take the report at face value, tragic as the whole situation is.

Some people are always going to be predisposed to just "want" there to be more to a story.

what is the report?

head trauma of unknown etiology? that's the report.

I doubt somebody killed him, but how could you say it's an accident unless they found evidence of where he fell in the hotel room, which to the best of my knowledge has not been reported?

but ya know, if the family is satisfied who the fuck am I

Re: Bob Saget dead at 65

I leave it to the professionals whose job it is investigate and piece everything together but my guess is the overall lack of evidence pointing to foul play allows them to safely conclude it was accidental. So unless there's some invisible ninja going around sneaking into hotel rooms waiting to conk people in the back of the head with a blunt object with just enough force to kill without causing external bleeding then neatly arranging them on their bed and placing all their personal effects in such a way as to seem they went to sleep like any other night then I'm pretty sure they can rule it accidental.

Re: Bob Saget dead at 65

Weren’t there reports that he had recently recovered from COVID (not died from COVID as the internet would want you to believe, just recovering)? I know when I was recovering from COVID, one of the lingering symptoms was light-headedness/dizziness. Luckily, I never took a fall from it but I can understand it happening.

He was positive for COVID-19 when he died apparently.

Re: Bob Saget dead at 65

The hotel he was staying in probably had electronic locks. I'm sure they have a way to track when the door was opened and closed. Even if someone came in the room with him, there would have been a record of them leaving.

I like how TGMs avatar is literally a ninja doctor. Sort of pulls things into focus.

Re: Bob Saget dead at 65

Bob Saget’s story took a weirder turn. Read this story, his head injuries were significant skull fractures. Says it was equivalent to being hit on the head with a baseball bat or falling 20 to 30 feet. This is not bumping your head in the shower and brushing it off. Did he fall off the stage at his performance and hit his head? I mean so many questions.
