She also got a LOT of exposure from the McDonalds Happy Meal that was named after her over the summer. That was in the face of every red-blooded, McDonalds eating American every time they went to the drive thru. (Also, it was basically just an overpriced McNuggets combo featuring her 'Saweetie and Sour' sauce which was enough to piss me off enough to decide I don't like her! )

Staten Island is the most 'New Jersey-iest' part of New York City. So you either love it or hate it based on how you feel about New Jersey.
It's got lots of blue-collar Italian American families and some great Italian food.
Because its cheaper to live there a lot of NYC policeman and fireman seem to prefer living there.
It's considered the most Republican part of NYC
It also has a reputation of being the home of a high percentage of Italian Americans involved in organized crime
Its got great views of the ocean and NY/Brooklyn skylines
The Fresh Kills landfill dominates most of the western side of the island facing New Jersey
It's actually a pain in the ass to travel to Staten Island because the bridge tolls are like $15 bucks each way, the subway does not stretch across the New York Harbor so there is no connection also Staten Island does have its own little train line that runs around the perimeter of the island and connects to the ferry which will take you into downtown Manhattan
Housing in Staten Island is much more affordable than anywhere else and you actually can have a drive way and large yard which is hard to find in the city limits

That's about as much as I can tell you from my visits to Staten Island. Its not bad at all. I actually enjoy going over there to visit friends and eat out. If the bridge tolls weren't so high I'd go more often. Other than that, there isn't really any reason so go there unless you live there.

It seems kind of nitpicking when Staten Island if the butt of all these jokes when it is probably better than most places in the South.
