Where was all this when I was complaining about Yang's Emmy nomination back in July?

I was talking about it before you ever mentioned him.

Is your objection to his nomination because he's a feature player or just that he got a nomination at all?
I don't think it's a big deal if a featured player gets nominated - as long as he/she was used often enough... which I think Yang was. His performances are a different matter.

I figure if Leslie Jones can get nominated twice, then the bar is pretty low. One of the most one-dimensional actors in SNL history.

He's the first Featured Player to get an Emmy nod. That was a big deal, at least to Lorne. I promise he'll be a cast member this season.

Yeah, it's pretty much a given.

I think Chloe Fineman will get the bump, too.

Hope so since she is a smokeshow.

I hereby volunteer to give her that bump!

That night?
Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series
Carl Clemons-Hopkins (“Hacks”)
Brett Goldstein (“Ted Lasso”) Winner
Brendan Hunt (“Ted Lasso”)
Nick Mohammed (“Ted Lasso”)
Paul Reiser (“The Kominsky Method”)
Jeremy Swift (“Ted Lasso”)
Kenan Thompson (“Saturday Night Live”)

But in reality, any man who appears on a comedy series in a regular role who is not a lead. They're all funnier than him. Except maybe Kyle Mooney.

Plus, she's actually quite talented and funny, unlike Yang and Mooney.

Nope, that was the first Emmy show that I skipped watching in years. I had a feeling it would be a clusterfuck, and from the reviews I've read, it was.

She should have been upgraded to a full cast member last season. She absolutely owned those SNL-at-home pandemic shows they did with her Britney Spears Masterclass, and that girl who got stuck with the flaky AirBnB chick.

Agree with all of this. She’s super talented and cute as hell. How insulting is it that Yang who is devoid of any talent (or charisma) got a nomination before her? And will probably get an upgrade at the same time.

They aren't competing in the same category. Plus 3 SNL females were already nominated in supporting actress(Cecily Strong,Aidy Bryant,Kate McKinnon)so she will have to probably get better name recognition and have to wait for one of them to quit the show.

I know that they aren't competing in the same category. My point was, how he got recognition before her (in ANY category) is insulting.

Ditto. Better to have another bland athlete host than her. While I hope I'm wrong, I see her as the kind of celebrity who refuses to participate in sketches that make fun of her public persona (according to Tina Fey, Paris Hilton was a big pain in the ass when it came to this). I'm sure we'll get a sketch about her butt, as she seems okay with that asspect of herself.

I'm all in favor of having more reality show personalities hosting SNL, if for nothing else but the outrage that comes along with it. Bring on some of the Real Housewives next, please!

Oh yeah, she was fantastic on those shows.

Will we ever see anything as self-deprecating as George Steinbrenner as the convenience store owner who just doesn't have the heart to fire anyone? Or fire a manager, bring him back, and fire him again? "That's stupid ownership!"

Had to google her.

She's the one who looks like Aidy Bryant's doppleganger.

Beck Bennett is kind of a loss; he's a good utility player.

You guys got your wish. Well not your wish to bump with Chloe Fineman, but close enough.

Yeah, I always figured Lauren Holt was on the show to do the Aidy Bryant parts while she was off shooting Shrill.

They're going to miss Beck. He was a little like Darrell Hammond or Chris Parnell back in the day -- a real workhorse who you could plug into any sketch.

BTW : Punky Johnson was completely useless last year and I'm a little surprised she came back.
