That's from his submission episode.

I hope season 51 is not the final season the way things are going.

I wonder if Lorne decided to pull back a little on the political humor and a reason for all the cast defections.

Ah, remember the good ol' days when there was no political humor on SNL?

All one cast defection? The rest were fired.

Maybe they have the corporate structure where they can say what they want and feel without retribution?

Did we get any confirmation on Heidi either way?

Well, nothing official, but she was silent and her departure was announced in the same time frame as the other firings, as opposed to Ego who clearly left on her own terms and with a public announcement. Not hard to draw your own conclusions from that.

First three hosts and MGs announced

The show will return for its 51st season on October 4th. The season premiere will be hosted by Bad Bunny with musical guest Doja Cat. It’s Bad Bunny’s second time to host. It’s Doja Cat’s first time appearing on the show.

The October 11th show will bring back SNL alum Amy Poehler. She’ll be joined by musical guest Role Model, who is an indie-pop singer songwriter that I had to google.

Finally, on October 18th, Sabrina Carpenter — a popular host last year, who also appeared on the 50th Anniversary special — will return as both host and musical guest for the season’s third episode.

Bummer. Was hoping for a Taylor Swift appearance as MG for the Season Premiere, just days after her new album dropped.

Never heard of Role Model either. Weird get for Episode 2. 8.2M monthly listeners on Spotify. That's certainly more than I expected.

Carpenter was a given.

I can see why one would expect Tay Tay to MG if not double up right around the time of her album drop, but I seriously wonder if they're delaying her till February so they can do a Travis/Taylor ep.

.

She is beyond needing traditional promotion.

I can't speak for every MG on the show, but in Taylor's case the promotion is the opposite; her appearance promotes the show, not the other way around.

Yeah, I wasn't hoping for her to appear on SNL to bump up her first-week album sales numbers.

Maybe Beyonce as well, but it's tough to make a list of performers who would not see some benefit in using SNL to promote a new release. Swift could walk into 30 Rock any Saturday night at 11:30pm, and they would put her on.

I'm really curious just how neutered the writers' room is going to be at least to start the season.

It will probably be a really interesting cold open when James Austin Johnson is beaten and arrested by ICE agents on live TV.

That's actually a pretty good premise for a Cold Opening.

But how would you know if it was a "bit" or real life?

Can someone translate this to 60 year old language

It was widely expected that Sabrina Carpenter would host again given her recent new album and her closeness with Lorne.

I can see why one might expect Taylor Swift to be a Musical Guest or even a Host and Musical Guest around the time her new album was released, but perhaps they are waiting until the NFL season is over in hopes of doing an episode where Travis Kelce is the host and his fiancé Taylor Swift would be the musical guest.

I heard Role Model on the way home on the Spectrum channel on SiriusXM and I liked the song. Looking forward to seeing them on SNL

Maybe they could get married on the show, like Tiny Tim and Miss Vicki.

I thought it made sense, but I'll get off your lawn. I'm just a young Gen X whippersnapper that actually remembers watching first run primetime episodes of The Brady Bunch, so I know I'm still a kid.

The big news is Amy Poehler coming back to host since it has been awhile.

My favorite cast member from the aughts cast the second best SNL era after the early 90's all star cast.
