More cast upheaval at SNL. Ego Nwodim out after 7 seasons.

I really liked Ego! She had one of the best skits with the "Girl" line on a daytime talk show. I hope she is one of the few that makes it on TV or movies after SNL so many of the cast members just disappear.

Ego and Heidi are pretty big losses imo, the rest I'm more ambivalent about.

Bummer. I'd always assumed when Olivia Rodrigo gets her inevitable hosting slot, they'd do a "Lisa from Temecula" sketch, because Ms. Rodrigo actually IS from Temecula.

You'd think potential comedy gold like that would be reason alone to stay on another year.

I'd be extremely surprised if Olivia doesn't do a host/MG outing this season.

Sucks Ego is leaving though we are lucky she pursued comedy since she was working towards a medical degree.

It's not like former cast members haven't come back to do a sketch or two.

I thought the same thing. Maybe after giving it much thought, she decided it was time to go. There are way too many stories how toxic this show can be. When you have that many cast members, it's tough to get much airtime. When I heard Michaels was doing a major overhaul, I expected a super scaled down cast. But then he only got rid of 4, and added 4. I was expecting and hoping the number would drop down to 7-10. Also, why is he still there? Wasn't Season 50 supposed to be his swan song? Dude needs to pass the torch already. Or maybe the show just calling it a day.

Yes, she was my favorite. I can't get over how Jane Wickline didn't get the axe. She is dreadful. And while I do like him a lot, Keenan also should have exited the show a long time ago. Bowen, of course, has gotten another pass to torture me.

I have always thought that Lisa from Temecula was like Debbie Downer, in that it was funny just the first time because of how the cast was reacting. My recollection is that the table was shaking like crazy and the cast started breaking.

That kind of thing is only funny once.

Just stop watching.

Unless Keenan ages and looks like a 80 year old guy someday he will never leave the show.

Is he going to get a big promotion behind the scenes sometime in the future if he stays on the show?

People who are successful on the show leave for two reasons: 1) they have bigger opportunities to pursue, 2) they tire of the pressure and grind.

Kenan does not have the former, and he does not seem to be affected by the latter. He loves what he is doing, and I think he is great at it. No reason for him to leave.

Agreed, he continues to be great on the show.
