Basically, it said it's been rumored that SNL is trying to get Tik Tok star Addison Rae to host.

If this is true, it's time for the show to officially end.

Man I really loved this ten minute reflection on his SNL days from Jason Sudeikis.

Michael Che announced his is leaving after this year.

That will be a big loss.

Michael Che is apparently stepping away from the “Weekend Update” desk. Per the Star Tribune, the comedian and Saturday Night Live head writer announced that this is his “last year” co-anchoring the popular news spoof segment with Colin Jost.

Che reportedly announced the news while performing at a pop-up comedy show hosted in a hair salon in Minneapolis. "This is my last year,” said Che, according to the Star Tribune. “You know my tie is a clip-on, right? What man wears a clip-on tie to work for eight years — that’s embarrassing.”

Che has co-anchored the spoof-news segment with Jost since 2014. It is unclear whether Che meant that he is only leaving “Update” and continuing as a head writer of SNL, or whether this is his final season on the sketch series itself. Cast member Cecily Strong co-anchored “Weekend Update” with Seth Meyers for a single season before Che and Jost took over, but has remained on the show.

He's leaving Weekend Update. Might stay on the show as a writer.

My daughter was watching this last week and I caught his voice and said "Wait, did I just hear Mikey Day on a cooking game show?"

It sounds like Che has been doing that bit for years and I wouldn't take it to heart that he may be leaving. :)

He even describes himself as "one of the white guys on SNL" at one point.

It would be great if they could get Chris Rock to appear this week, but it looks like he has two shows in Atlantic City that night.

Maybe they can get DJ Jazzy Jeff to run up on stage and slap random people.

I don't think Rock wants to spend the foreseeable future reminding people he got slapped by another man.

It's all about that cash flow.

oh come on, I don't think Tom feels there is a payday for the appearance but continuing to have his name in the spotlight keeps him selling out shows, booking larger venues, and going onto late-night shows where he has not appeared often lately to the best of my knowledge. Then a book deal etc. It's the best thing that happened to Rock since he left SNL and makes him a household name.

Rock didn’t become a household name until after he left SNL in mid 90s.

Starting with Bring the Pain in the mid 90s, he was basically the biggest comedian in the world until he took a break from 2008-2018.

Chappelle only overtook him once he came back from his long break in 2017 or whenever it was.

I don't think you have a clue who Chris Rock is.

He's on tour now, playing the best theaters everywhere he goes. He'll sell out every show and didn't need to get slapped to do it.
He's welcome to show up on any talk show any time he wants.

I don't know what rock you live under where Rock is not already a household name.

So, Jerrod Carmichael came out as gay in his new HBO special tonight. He hosts SNL tomorrow.

I wonder if he and Chris Redd will play Will Smith and Chris Rock in tomorrow’s show.

I know he had a "hit show" a decade back and was a cast member on SNL for a while but I sincerely doubt that my parents or my kids (17-19 y/o) would know him from Adam if not for the slap. I'm sure he was doing OK before the slap but he is not "that popular" that he crosses over generations. I doubt he EVER trended on Twitter before. You might be a big fan but it does not mean other people are universally aware of him.
