Yup, I saw it with that cast.
Logan Marshall-Green, Ari Graynor, and Kelli Garner as well. It was a stacked cast.

Just another article link to remind some people on here why this sucks for the less fortunate.

I finally received my 4k box set. I was worried that the digital copy wouldn't work since the packaging said it expired in 2018, but it redeemed fine and it's a Movies Anywhere digital copy.

re: Peanuts holiday specials moving to Apple TV+

I admit for my family, having it available for free on Apple+ was easier than digging out the blu ray (which I think is in the Xmas bin somewhere) or setting a dvr to record it.

And again, my kids were bored to death by it. Still made them watch the whole thing. There are some great moments, but even as a kid I didn't understand what the underlying message was... don't believe in your dreams because you'll just be disappointed? Plus I know I'm turning my kids into "snowflakes" but the bullying is just rampant.

Also, only watched in 1080p but some of the lines looked... ghosted on my set? Not sure if that's the right word.

That’s the good thing about the 2018 rerelease. They were previously categorized as TV but now they’re movies and MA compatible.

Interesting. When I bought my CB Christmas 4k last year, I checked to see if it would actually redeem in 4k before using the code and it only would redeem as HD. Guess I should dig up that code and see if it'll redeem in 4k yet.

Looks like Apple took too much heat over this. PBS is now showing Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and Christmas as special ad-free one night events.

Nov 22nd @7:30p for A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving
Dec 13th @ 7:30p for A Charlie Brown Christmas

So all of you who were outraged about this better be sitting on your fat asses at home with your kids and watch the live PBS showings.

I have no idea if I even have PBS, but I'll look for it. If not, I'll dig out the DVD for Thanksgiving. I have the Christmas special on 4k.

Yup. And no DVR since that's the same as just popping in the DVD. Live broadcast only.

I'd be curious in what circumstance could someone not have PBS. Right now I don't have cable or internet, but my TV picks up PBS with a $25 indoor antenna.

Yeah, PBS tends to be the most accessible of networks since many stations are state run and they try to reach all viewers within their constituency.

This is great news and its already on my viewing calendar.

You’d be surprised. I can only pick up two lProvidence stations (neither of which are PBS) with a set-top antenna. As of 2mos ago PBS started streaming most regional stations for free so I can finally watch GBH without needing to pay $35 for cable.

re: Peanuts holiday specials moving to Apple TV+

Glad I have my DVD as I did indeed cancel Apple TV and wanted to watch this with my family the other night.

Quick question, I notice that they consistently say "trick's or Treat's" in the show. Is this some kind of regionalism? I always called it trick or treat even back in the 70s..

I think it's more a kidsism.

Re: Peanuts holiday specials moving to Apple TV+

I noticed that too when we rewatched it yesterday. Apparently it was common to use it as a plural version of trick or treat back in the 50s/60s though obviously that has changed since.

The "I got a rock" thing still gets a laugh from me, especially since you can see him getting it in his bag, but otherwise man it's like a chore to get my kids to watch it.

Funny how this thread brought so much outrage here a year ago.

And I'm sure a large majority didn't even watch it on PBS or by any other means.

PBS is doing the same thing again this year and airing them.
