If Dexter's in another part of the country and everyone who's still alive in the MPD thinks he's dead - why would they return?
Plus, who's left from the MPD anyway - Angel, Vince and Quinn. That's a pretty thin and irrelevant cast.

Naming the season is something new. Not exactly sure why it’s necessary, but I guess. That title reminds me of Friday the 13th Part VII.

Re: Dexter Limited series coming to Showtime -- Michael C. Hall to return

Just the trailer:

Starring multiple Emmy nominee Michael C. Hall as America’s favorite serial killer Dexter Morgan, the special event series DEXTER: NEW BLOOD will premiere Sunday, November 7 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on SHOWTIME. Set 10 years after Dexter went missing in the eye of Hurricane Laura, the series finds him living under an assumed name in the small town of Iron Lake, New York. Dexter may be embracing his new life, but in the wake of unexpected events in this close-knit community, his Dark Passenger beckons. Joining Hall, the cast also includes Julia Jones (The Mandalorian), Alano Miller (Sylvie’s Love), Johnny Sequoyah (Believe), Jack Alcott (THE GOOD LORD BIRD) and Clancy Brown (The Crown, BILLIONS). Reuniting Hall with original series showrunner Clyde Phillips, DEXTER: NEW BLOOD is currently in production on 10 one-hour episodes in Western Massachusetts.

and the panel dex14 posted from today is pretty good. Julia Jones, who plays Dexter’s new love interest, is stunning.

Definitely curious. Hopefully this turns out good. Kind of getting used to Dexter’s new look. His hair and the way he dresses now.

Re: Dexter Limited series coming to Showtime -- Michael C. Hall to return

This is not a spoiler because Clyde Phillips mentioned it in the panel, but he claims the final episode will "Blow up the internet"

We'll see. They mentioned they began production in February because they needed the cold climate and snow where the season is set. Apparently it's set in a fictional town in NY. Dexter's alias in the season is "Jim Lindsay" which is a nod to the original Dexter novelist Jeff Lindsay.

So.. either a shocking ending or cliffhanger leading into another season. Part of me won’t be surprised if the show comes back for more than one season.

What else does Showtime have right now? Black Monday?

I can see this coming back.

Plus Dexter was one of their top rated and most popular shows in its original run. I imagine them getting it back they’re going to do whatever it takes to make it last at least a few seasons.

Only a few things would be really shocking. There would be the "all a dream angle", "sis really didn't die" angle, "gas chamber" angle, "new Dexter is his son angle" not sure I can think of a blow up the internet angle.

I have only watched season one and two of Dexter. I need to go back and finish it. I thought the trailer for the new limited series looks good

Just stop after season 4. Save yourself the aggravation.

Yeah, I really don’t know what a shocking ending could be either. The thing is the show already had some shocking endings, and has blown opportunities.

I still think they should have saved the Bay Harbor Butcher angle rather than making it the season two storyline. That could have been the storyline either leading up to the final season or the final season itself.

Trying to think how old Harrison is supposed to be by now. Somewhere in his teen years I’m guessing. Maybe something happens where he tracks Dexter down. Maybe he ends up helping him out and possibly ends up killing someone, following in his father’s footsteps?

I mean it could make some sense. They’re calling this season New Blood. In the books Cody and Astor had their own Dark Passengers and Dexter taught them Harry’s code. Maybe they’ll apply that concept to Harrison for the series.

They’ve said this is a continuation of the events that have already happened, and that they aren’t retconning anything. So for that reason I don’t see any deaths being undone. I also have a tough time thinking this will be a one and done type of deal.

Or maybe Dexter winds up on the table and Harrison kills him?

Clyde Phillips said in the Dexter panel from Sunday that this season is taking place about 10 years after the final season.

Maybe. Could be an interesting twist. Not sure how I would feel about that though.

Yeah, and Harrison was probably what, six or seven when we last saw him? He was born beginning of session four, but I think they aged him up slightly.

Kind of surprised they would drop that big of a spoiler if that’s who that’s really supposed to be. I assumed Harrison might be in the show, but obviously wasn’t sure.

Looks really good so far. So it looks like Dexter is dating a cop or someone in law enforcement. Probably how he’s getting his leads. Curious how Harrison is going to factor into the season.

He learns that his dad is not dead and goes to find him. That's what you see for the first two-thirds of the season, sort of intermittent sprinklings of me, this mystery stalker. It's me following him, trying to confirm his identity.

I got Deb vibes on those parts. It reminded me of her when she was still a cop before she made detective.

Re: Dexter Limited series coming to Showtime -- Michael C. Hall to return

Speculation on my part...

Spoiler:

Harrison is going to be the "Big Bad" on the season. He will end up being the serial killer Dexter is tracking down.

(Spoiled in case I'm on the nose.)
