Anyone noticed that some of the aerial shots were just much lower quality last night? I wonder if they used drones for some insert land shots because of Covid

Re: Yellowstone (Paramount) -- Season 3 Thread
Predictions for this week:
Monica gets lost in the lodge again and asks for directions. Later used as sex doll with limited dialogue
Beth cries about something and is comforted by Rip
Beth always verbally humiliates someone.
The land is further threatened by the new real estate big bad....Costner turns down generational money even knowing the kids will sell it the instant he kicks off
The ranch hands will pick a flight with someone.
The new girl will continue to sexually harass all the men and the barrell racing chicks will continue to be wanton sluts (in a upbeat good way)
In between all the drama will be devastatingly beautiful scenery of Montana

Yay! Monica got a meaningful scene!
In season 1 and 2 she was really the bridge between 2 world's. Now she's just not even there.
And the bunk house stuff, while fun is just a separate show at this point.

Did anyone not see those bikers coming back to attempt to burn the field?
Anyone here with experience dating a barrel racer? Are they that down to f--- even if you just had a catheter removed, a hip replaced, and multiple spinal fractures?

Is it me or does Yellowstone have like a TON of commercials?? Seems like there was only 30 mins of actual show last night and it finished 8 minutes early to boot. Didn't really dig last nights episode to be honest. Only thing I really enjoyed was hot blonde barrel racer and old dude. They actually have chemistry. Beths continuous mental anguish is getting sort of old. Someone wants to take my land is not a compelling plot line the third time you do it.

Beth is a bore, and Josh Holloway has surprisingly been a total non-entity this season. Not his fault, the writers'.
One other thing - I know I'll be in the minority here, but I just rewatched the first two seasons, and it's given me a new perspective on Jamie. He screws up a lot but he's been the most effective advocate for the family's interests of any of them. Sure he doesn't destroy companies or shoot people (well, one journalist-strangling...), but as the guy working through the political and legal systems, he's the one who has saved that ranch and kept staff and family members out of jail (so far).

Yeah this season is a total bore for me. Like johnnysd its the same plot line every season. I did like how John said it has all been a waste, without anymore heirs/grand children. But man I was really expecting something with Holloway and weve had....some meetings.
And yes, Jamie is the real MVP for the family.

I'll say that this season feels a little scattered compared to prior seasons. The showrunner has the series supposedly mapped out, so it's possible season three is more of a stalling pattern than heavy plot developments.

Re: Yellowstone (Paramount) -- Season 3 Thread
I think what makes this season interesting is that we are seeing the real threat to the future of the ranch is the family itself. I think that's why Holloway isn't that big of a threat up to this point. John is at a point where he is now questioning why he even wants to save it. It does seem like they are doing a multi season arc st this point, which makes sense considering the success of the show.
I actually like the scenes in the bunkhouse. It brings some fun to the show and serves the purpose of illustrating that the ranch is their life. They are completely oblivious to the struggle surrounding them and the overall threat to their livelihoods. And I'm starting to think Jimmy is going to have a tragic ending.

I just hope they find a reason to camp and come out of the tents to pee at the same time again...

You know peeing is never really handled well in movies and TV. Unless they are trying to dye their hair to escape, almost no one ever goes and characters are often in situations where they are in one place for a really long time and there is like literally no where to pee..bugs me...rant over

Kind of bummed about the Jamie revelation...I kind of liked the idea that John had a biological son that was totally screwed up.

Re: Yellowstone (Paramount) -- Season 3 Thread
The Jamie reveal is not believable. The Duttons are suppose to be one of the most prominent families in the state and on top of that they live in a fairly small town. Some of the town folk would have known that Jamie was adopted unless they are going to explain it away that Dutton’s wife was pregnant, had a miscarriage and Jamie took the spot.

Then there's Jamie, the Yale(?) educated lawyer who stands by his abusive dad no matter what.
Everything's relative of course, but with these candidates to choose from, what exactly is your definition of a screwup?

Another snoozer of an episode, though Costner did well with his soliloquy and and barrel chick looked way hot in the tight white top.
Rip also once again demonstrated how much of an uptight douche he is, living in his own cabin and fucking the bosses daughter yet gets all righteous about women in the bunkhouse. He is person I would intensely dislike in real life.
I guess Jamie is going to try and sell the ranch out from his now not "real" in his mind dad.
A barrel girl striptease in the bunk house might save the season but otherwise its a very dull season.

Don't forget incredibly unrealistic sting. Killers anonymous. Also, I made a promise that Ill keep even if it destroys my family
Holloway might have the least consequential role ever so far in this show. Maybe he is just male eye candy
They should just run a preview that says "tune in the next two weeks when the Duttons kill all of their enemies
And oh whenever you say in a TV show or movie "seems like you have outlived your past"......well, you know
Plus I have a strong suspicion how they solve the land buyout with the equity firm. They probably can't kill them

OK I deleted my snarky diatribe because I really want to like this show, but man I think it's past its prime. Too bad.
