Not if they did it blind. Have the audience judge it but don't say who built it.

But then you wouldn't get to see them working on the builds, which is half of the episode.

Re: Lego Masters

I think the voting is fine as is... gotta say I was never a big fan of the Lego lackeys who looked down (or up in the guy's case) on everyone's project... so perhaps they can replace those two drones with somebody with some personality. Also, feel free to leave out the "guest stars" who brought nothing to the show.

No I meant just for the audience judges. The show would be the same for the viewers.

Re: Lego Masters

The actual LEGO master builders need to stay. They know LEGO inside and out and what the company looks for in design.

Guest hosts? Gotta go. Outside of Threepio and R2 & BB8, they gotta go.

I'm cool with Lego masters being the judges... would just like different Lego masters.

Renewed: https://tvline.com/2020/11/11/lego-m...-season-2-fox/

I had figured it had already been renewed. It must be a relatively cheap show and probably an easier shoot than most shows these days.

Re: Lego Masters

Second season should have stronger teams. They'll probably be able to pull from a larger pool of applicants now that everyone has seen the show.

Re: Lego Masters

after two episodes, the two brother teams are ahead of the other groups by far. The dragon float was the best build. hopefully we get to see more of the builds and less of the sob stories

Agree about the dragon float and sob stories. I'd also like less of the host, his cornball jokes and competitions that involve destroying the contestants' hard work.

Re: Lego Masters

Found out that one of the contestants is the sister of my cousin's wife.

I kept hoping that would happen last season and it never did. I watched thinking I'd see how they built these cool things with Lego, but that was barely part of the show. The personal drama and sobbing backstories were so cloying it almost turned the corner to satire. Almost. Instead it became unwatchable glop. Glad I'm only missing out on more of the same.

Same thing here. I really like Will Arnett and he occasionally snuck in a good line, but only after dozens of insipid ones that felt like I was watching a hostage delivering a forced confession video.

Re: Lego Masters

The second season has double-downed on the hokiness and over-production. I was hoping for more LEGO building, less of everything else, but they're actually doing the opposite so far this season. At least all the contestants seem like nice people who root for each other, which is a rarity on most competition series.

Re: Lego Masters

I've started watching it in Quick Mode on my Tivo, and some parts I just skip altogether to avoid the hokiness and sob stories. By the finale, I'll probably jump right to the reveals. LOL.

Re: Lego Masters

Sob stories are dumb on this show. Also the two brother teams are leagues ahead of everyone else but still far behind the season 1 teams. I was expecting better teams given they have a bigger pool of potential contestants that saw season 1.

All that being said, the double dragons were amazing. Their alien attacking a downed ship was also pretty cool. I did enjoy the Violin Man build. Kinda cool.

Re: Lego Masters

I agree that they could spend more time showcasing the builds. They usually have somewhere between 10 and 14 hours per build and all we see is them running around with buckets of loose bricks, a few minutes of planning, maybe a quick look if there's a catastrophe of some sort, and then voila, it's done!

Re: Lego Masters

I think it's going to be hard to top the double-dragon build for the rest of the series.

Re: Lego Masters

Really nice builds this episode, the floating brick challenge. I thought the whale and squid was amazing and should have won but there were lots of very solid builds like the bee and farmer one and the turtle one and with the gnome one.
