I like both actors, but the subject matter holds no interest for me.

I'm a big fan of Kaya so I watched this yesterday. It started off alright I suppose, but by the end of the season... wow, did this go off the rails. So many dumb subplots and the skating almost became secondary.

I don't know if anyone watched this, but it was cancelled today. https://tvline.com/2020/02/03/spinni...flix-season-2/ I was going to check it out, but hadn't got around to it. That's a fast cancellation for Netflix. It was barely out for a month.

No surprise. Netflix did absolutely no marketing. No one was talking about it. It just dropped. So Netflix just expects people to check these new originals out on a whim when most don't even know about it?
Netflix's marketing dept is terrible. You spend millions on originals and then just drop 1 trailer on YouTube and expect people to know about it? I love that we have more to watch than what we can realistically consume, but it's kind of ridiculous that they drop it and then when they don't see some traction on it right away, they just assume no one cares and pull the plug.
Honestly I didn't even know about this series until the thread was dropped. But I simply didn't have time to stop everything and check it out and even though I did like the actress from Crawl.

Netflix also dropped Virgin River with absolutely no marketing and it was picked up for season 2. I don't really understand how they measure streaming ratings.

I googled it out of curiosity and Netflix must have given Virgin River a two season commitment. Wikipedia says season two started production on September 9, 2019. The first season wasn't released until December 6, 2019
