I thought for a second that they were going to kill her off, which would’ve disappointed me because I like the character, but I would’ve admired the stones to do that.

But in general I was satisfied with the episode, and that they resolved it through normal police work rather than the Rosalyn or Wesley Hail Marys.

Yeah, but her dropping the ring for them to spot later on was straight out of 70s Charlie's Angels. And the box of candy, and the lawyer piecing together the location, those were all really far-fetched ways for the police to get their clues.
When Chen broke free, and then knocked her assailant to the floor, she should have seized that opportunity to beat him unconscious (or to death) rather than attempting to run away.

"He still has a PO Box near the prison! Look, her family owns a farm near the prison!"

Agreed on Chen not running. Also the detective in the cemetery; not chance in hell he just gives up his gun, goes to the house with him and calmly sits down and watches Chen suffocate from the couch.

I’ll take your word for it on Charlie’s Angels , but I was OK with it, as it gave Lucy a part in her own rescue, even it was supremely convenient that Tim was the one who found that needle in the haystack. And yeah, that’s what I meant by not having the chocolates or Wesley be the deus ex machina.

But yeah, I thought she was going to pummel him when he was down, though I’ll also say I thought she was about to escape into civilization and be rescued rather than find herself in the middle of nowhere.

I get the reasoning (ESCAPE!!) but stop the guy from being able to pursue you.

Sure, my own instinct was saying “He’s down! Kick him in the head! Over and over!” But when she ran instead, I said, “Well, maybe she’ll get away anyway.” They might not cover that in the Academy.

This show is good but that last episode had one of my biggest pet hates in terms of plot devices

Lucy overpowered her captor , then chooses to run whilst he recovers.and comes right after her

NO ! BLOODY NO ! When you have the upper hand for a split second which Lucy had, , you stomp the mofo again and again until he isn't moving (ever again) and then you take your time escaping.

We all knew Lucy was going to survive anyway. They killed off the boss last season and they unexpectedly lost Nolan's partner this season, so I figured there wasn't any chance of Lucy dying. This episode was decent, but it was missing the show's usual humor.

Not saying it's a bad thing, Giantrobo, but it looks like some of that weight Nolan lost ended up on Chen's hips.

Forget about Coronavirus, according to this show you live in LA you’re more likely to get shot.

They are pretty much telegraphing Tim and Lucy hooking up right? My wife and I keep saying it.

I really hope not. She and Nolan already ended their affair because if it got out, it would be bad for them. I would like to give Tim credit for knowing her can't abuse that power dynamic, and Lucy credit for knowing not to make such a mistake for a young woman.

Since when has Jackson been “out”? I thought he was still closeted.

I think the team (show characters) knew when he was flirting with that nurse guy from earlier in the season. But yeah, did his fatter know?

He came out over the winter break --during the night after Lucy was taken and before they realized she was gone in the morning.

Interesting... Pete Davidson to play Nathan Fillion’s half brother.
...and... that sucked. What an annoying character. Strong Roy vibes:

Everything else was good as usual.

Davidson is a terrible actor. I hope they don't revisit his character.

I thought Davidson was good. The character was completely contrived, but Davidson played him with humor. Maybe he was typecast as dirt-bag chick-magnet with mental problems, but it worked for me.

Spoiler:
I read on some internet gossip that Pete Davidson and Ali Larter ended up doing the Beckinsdale Bop after they met on the show!!
Spoiler:

jk

As someone who doesn't watch SNL anymore, that dude is a terrible actor. He was basically playing himself and couldn't even pull that off convincingly.

Also, did I miss something or was that Nolan's house he was at with the Dr? It went from shambles he had to renovate to a 10+ mil house overlooking LA?

So that was his house? Regardless of the condition of the old house, that property alone is worth many millions with a view like that. Nothing that cop Nolan or former contractor Nolan would ever be able to afford.

Why not just have him be a "regular" guy? What does showing him as rich bring to the story? Unless we're just to believe that his rich buddy who isn't on the show anymore is just buying everything for him?
