This season is 3D in 2D aka 5D according to Rob Riggle. Riggle is also on the Australian version of Holey Moley. You can find episodes of it on YouTube.

Almost done with the 2nd episode and still loving this show. Some of those putts were really awesome and so far I like some of the adjustments to existing course holes or even the new ones such as The Pecker. It will be neat to see someone succeed on The Pecker by not falling off the bird and grabbing the "feathers" to avoid the stroke penalty, maybe a bit too hard but we shall see. Also, still funny to watch folks spin off/slide down the pole on the Polcano...I mean North Pole hole. Finally, no spoilers but that dude who looks more like a normal looking dude than Brad Pitt, lets just say he is a lucky guy.
Spoiler:
As the saying goes he is "marrying up."

I'm surprised Riggle stayed so calm while shouting "In the Face".

I think the whole point of this show is to see how many times Riggle gets Joe Tessitore to laugh.

I was waiting for Riggle to go all in on a woman about her “grabbing the pecker and riding it hard”, and he didn’t fail…

I’m sorry, Loki is great but this show is, by far, the best show of the Summer.

Re: Holey Moley -- Yup, it’s definitely Summer

The guy who managed to keep his grip at the bottom of the North Pole obstacle was a fun contestant. 99% of the time you know you are in for a fun time as you get to watch folks usually spin right off into the water but Joe and Riggle had it right, that last minute bear hug on the pole did the trick. To be fair, it is also crazy awesome when someone pulls off an upset at a obstacle and does not incur the 1 stroke penalty. For example, although I forget it it was a man or a woman who pulled this off, getting past the popcorn obstacle was also neat to watch. Then of course you have some really cool putts that sink the ball in and cause a win.

Going back to the guy who survived the Pole obstacle, I think it is mean that he also had to climb to the base of the pole to solidify that he got past the obstacle. If a contestant manages to grip the pole, even at the very bottom of the pole, for a brief period of time (say no more than 5 seconds) they should be allowed to not care if they then fall into the water and not worry about getting a penalty stroke, because if he did not managed to climb up the pole all that effort not to fly off into the water would have been for nothing.

A bit disappointed with the holes this year. Not as imaginative as last year. And the Cornhole hole is basically the same as #2. Run down a thin walkway before getting blasted off into foam/water.

Re: Holey Moley -- Yup, it’s definitely Summer

A lot of "reskinned" holes this season, agree with that but so far I am enjoying the contestants they have on the show and at the end of the day an unexpected long distance putt that sinks the ball and guarantees a player a win is still neat to watch. I do miss things like The Distractor hole, and there was that hole where if both contestants did not sink the putt both contestants would end up in the drink as the floor gave out beneath them. Still, a very fun show to watch even 3 seasons in and I am sure more seasons are on tap.

ETA: The more that I think about it, yeah...having two holes where it is near impossible to run past the obstacles in time is a bit of a bummer and a bit of a cheat where they did not have to come up with a hole like the one where you had to ride a mechanical bull for a bit.

"The Distractor" is supposed to come back. They filmed this season and the next back-to-back.

Re: Holey Moley -- Yup, it’s definitely Summer

I'm not a fan of the Xmas theme (in June / July) but despite the re-skinned holes, some of the new ones are cool. I really dig the puns from Big Pecker and I'm more than glad to see the diving hole (with Gutenberg) and the hole where Jon Lovitz chips blind folded gone.

I didn't mind the Lovitz hole, but I found the Guttenberg one excessive after the first time.

Yeah, Guttenberg was bad. He didn't have to go that hard. The diving kid who always took his wrath was good though.

Best "star" hole was the first; Steph himself chipping for a player with Robot Riggle chipping for the other.

Re: Holey Moley -- Yup, it’s definitely Summer

I get why Steph did not want to commit to being a participant in one of the holes again (time consuming, pandemic, etc.) but yeah, that hole was fun just to get to see Steph interact with a contestant. Holes I do not miss are the diving one (I can barely tolerate the current catapult off a chair one, which in theory should be a lot of fun to watch someone fly off a chair but in reality it is kind of a dud as a concept), the one where you get a pie in the face, and the one that looked so cheap (with water that looked beyond fake, etc.) even the hosts mocked the showrunners for creating a hole that was kind of lame, and I am sure I am forgetting about some others but these three stand out.

A Hole that seems to be popular with viewers but I would love to see retired are Hole #2 (but keep its twin cousin the popcorn Hole), and one other the game really should retire are the Marriage hole. I love that this hole lived up to its name when the dude proposed to his girl but the biggest issue I have is that it seems no fun/almost impossible to jump onto and not fall off that spinning ring. Again, in theory it seems like it could have been a fun hole to play but the reality is that it just makes me wince whenever I see someone hit the edge of the ring and fall.

A new hole that I really enjoy is the surfing hole as it is actually fun to watch folks try to maintain their balance on the surfboard as it moves them from one end of the hole to the other. In theory, I really like The Pecker but again, it may be too hard as designed and it kind of is no fun if there is a near 100% chance players will end up incurring the 1 stroke penalty.

Almost hit the post button but I just realized that there is one more hole from past seasons that I actually enjoyed, Franks and Beans, which had the players hanging onto a rotating hot dog spit, just a weird doofy hole that worked.

The fossil hole was entertaining but putting a 6'6" guy against a 5'5" chick was mean

Also really dug the design on the pinball machine.

Re: Holey Moley -- Yup, it’s definitely Summer

I've been watching Season One of the A+E series "Top Dog". -it's a Reality Comp that each episode puts teams of dogs and their trainers (four Police, one Civilian) through a series of challenges for a cash prize. It's an enjoyable show if you're a sucker for dogs. The first season had two hosts and the banter was similar to "American Ninja Warrior". Season Two just started and they replaced one of the hosts with comic actor David Koechner, and clearly they're going for a "Holey Moley" vibe.

I laughed at the results of the fossil hole but damn that one looks dangerous. They are lucky the women did not get hurt when she face planted, the water is way too shallow.

Re: Holey Moley -- Yup, it’s definitely Summer

Still watching, and the show continues to be a blast to view. Also, I am loving how they are just having way too much fun with some of the puns/double entendres that come out of Riggles mouth. Finally, yes WCChi, I have cringed at some of the spills on the course and said out loud that I hope Medical checked the person out (I bet that behind the scenes the medical staff is constantly checking with the contestants to make sure they are okay). What I like is that some of the putts are just bonkers incredible to watch because it is a small miracle when someone gets a ball over a ridge and into the cup while making it look effortless to pull-off. The best thing is that this neat hole-winning putt might come from someone who a senior citizen or a fairly young contestant, it keeps things interesting.

We're still watching too... it's a staple. I will say, if not for Riggle (and possibly Tessitore), I don't know that we would watch. Some of the holes are cool but those guys and how they interact are the real stars of the show. I find most of the contestants to be pompous ass-hats.

^ I feel like that's the goal of the contestants. It adds to the absurdity of them doing obstacles and playing putt putt.

Agreed. Being over the top seems to be a requirement for contestants.

ABC is doing their best to kill Holey Moley off. I have no idea when this show is even on.

The schedule has been terrible this year. It was Thursdays at 8pm Central, then it abruptly moved to its old time of 7pm Thursdays. Unfortunately, the schedule has been riddled with Sports interruptions and repeat episodes. This season finally wraps up this Thursday. The next season has already been filmed.
