I know most of you here don't really like this show, but I thought episode 7 tonight was one of the best ones of the season.
I really liked the backstory of Huck and her military background. And we saw how she fucked herself over by killing her entire unit for attempting to murder those civilians. I thought her backstory was pretty compelling.
Regarding the cliffhanger ending.....was that Tony (Scott Adsit) who got his face beaten to a pulp? I'm pretty sure it was. And Percy was nowhere to be found.

If it is 10 years since the start of the zombie apocalypse that puts the timeline right around the current timeline in TWD. There was a 6 year jump right after Rick left.

It was Tony. I imagine Percy is dead as well but we will see. I completely understand not liking this show but the reality is that The Walking Dead universe is all about its characters. If you can't get into the characters, the show has very little to offer. That's why the shows suffer when the weaker characters are the primary focus of an episode. I'm actually enjoying the show even if its moving at a glacial pace.

The cliffhanger makes it look like Silas murdered Tony. But it is possible that tony died from a heart attack or some other incident and became a walker and then Silas killed the walker by bashing his head in. There may not be a way of telling a dead person from a recently turned walker when their heads/faces are bashed in.
And then catatonic big guy who we're all supposed to believe went on a drunken berserker rage and killed the nice older guy instead of the d-bag he's jealous of. I assume it's a total ruse for the audience, but i'm sure the explanation will not be satisfying.

That whole final sequence was eye-rollingly bad. The faux museum set-up, the girl falling asleep, going to find d-bag grifter guy, and then finding the bashed in face.

AMC+ posted the 2 hour season finale tonight. I binged 8 through 10 tonight. Some interesting backstory like Silas' background with an abusive father and then we also learn of Felix's past relationship.
Overall it was an interesting 2 hours. We learn more about Huck and who she is working with. That plot point is ultimately part of the cliffhanger going into the final season. The 3 ring group also becomes important again as well.
They have promised that this show will segue into the long promised Rick movie. So I'm curious if we will see a cameo from Lincoln next season.
The season started out a little rough, but I think the 2nd half made it more interesting.

Re: The Walking Dead: World Beyond another Walking Dead spinoff
I just watched the last two episodes last night....
The part of the plot I don't get is that they wanted to take the one girl (the asset) for the Campus Community to the community where her dad was at. So instead of just flying her there in their helicopter they give her a map and other clues for her to get there for herself. If she was such an asset why would the not just take her in the helicopter from the begining? Why put her at extreme risk making her travel on foot with a bunch of untrained kids to get there? The codebook made no sense either. Huck managed to sneak off to visit the leader at least once so she could have relayed much better messages to her verbally in person rather than writing one word messages for Huck to figure out.

The explanation given was that she needed to see the world so she'd understand why she's important but I think the real reason is that it would have been more difficult to separate her from Iris. She probably wouldn't voluntarily go and if she did, she would probably make demands.

I know no one here (or anywhere) really watched this. But the series finale had a tacked on scene that seems like it will impact the franchise going forward.
In The Walking Dead's CDC episode in season one, the doctor had a few lines about how France lasted the longest and kept working after everyone else had lost power. And that they felt like they had been close to some promising science. Well the tacked on scene in World Beyond's finale...
