This show was a lot of fun. Agree with the comments regarding the vfx. Pogo looks as good as anything from the newest Planet of the Apes film series. Number 5 teleporting effect looked movie quality as well. I don’t know what the budget was for this show, but so much of it was as good looking as any feature film, and if not definitely one of the best looking tv shows I’ve ever seen. The characters all seem to shine with great performances by the whole cast. And how awesome is Cameron Britton? He continues to impress, and I’m so happy that Mindhunter comes back this year.y

Anybody here familiar with the source material? I just finished reading the Apocalypse Suite (6 issues, free on Kindle Unlimited) which seems to be the main inspiration of the series. I’m wondering if more of the show comes from the other volumes? The description for volume 2 (Dallas) makes mention of the whole crew going to
.
I think reading volume 1 made me appreciate the TV series even more. Some creative stuff in the comic, but they did a masterful job adapting the material into something sensible. Parts of the comic played like an ultra-violent version of 1960s Batman with the campiness still intact. I also really like the changes they made with the family for the show.

Just finished this. Overall, I liked it, and I really liked some of the characters (Klaus, #5, Hazel and Cha Cha) and found some others pretty bland (Diego, Luther, Allison). Still, interested in S2.
Yep, it sucks when you're digging a show and want to participate in discussion but can't for fear of spoilers.
Apropos of nothing but see this is why I don't like (and generally don't participate in) a single thread for an entire season of a show. If you don't binge or if you want to discuss individual episodes as you watch them, you have to dodge around, overall thoughts/speculations/spoilers etc.

Maybe there could be separate threads similar to the Movie forum with certain tv shows, namely binge-type series.

Watched the first 2 episodes.
Slow is how I would describe it.
Does it improve or is there just more of the same?
The characters are bland and not very interesting to me.
Is there more character introductions in later episodes?

If you don't like it after two episodes then you won't like the rest of the show either.

In regard to the "bland" characters, I'd say that's an accurate description for half the team: The big guy who plays Dickon in GOT, the pop star and Ellen Page are mostly blah, but the junkie and old man trapped in the kids' body are interesting with some great lines. Oh, and then there's that talking monkey, he's cool, too.
(It's been several months since I watched this, and I've already forgotten everybody's name).

Slogged through this over the last few weeks...it was OK nothing great. You can see the ending coming a mile away and maybe that was intentional especially since it is based on a comic. On the fence if I will watch another season of it. I knew nothing about it and enjoyed the mystery aspect at fist but then it became really predictable and that bothered me.

Looking forward to it! I recently did a rewatch of S1 and enjoyed it just as much as the first time.
