Clearly I'm in the minority, but the promos have done nothing for me. I'm a big fan of Greg Daniels and Steve Carell; loved The Office. But I think I may have cracked a smile or two at most during the trailer. That said, shouldn't judge it solely on that and will watch an episode or two. Hope my gut feeling is wrong.

That last trailer had me smiling throughout. Can’t wait till next weekend. Memorial Day weekend this Friday may have been better with no movies out, but whatevs. Looks great and I’m just now appreciating The Office, but this looks way different and so enjoyable.

It would have been great if this debuted tomorrow so all of us could have enjoyed the long holiday weekend to binge but still excited that I already know what my binge-watch will be next weekend.

Honestly, it looks kinda terrible, like it's trying hard to be something it can't.

Ugh, expected to love this but that trailer is awful. But then, great trailers often lead to bad films/shows....

This seems to be getting mostly terrible reviews. Grace Randolph loved it though.

Sad to hear about the reviews and as noted in this thread I am still looking forward to watching with the hope it falls into the territory of being so bad it is good.

It has its own Ben and Jerry flavor so that has to be good news?

I liked it. I liked the cast and it does poke fun at both sides. Ended on a few cliffhangers and the whole season has a mystery that will probably be revealed next season, maybe?

I’m a fan of Daniels and Carell, but just watched the first episode and didn’t laugh once. By far the worst 36 minutes I’ve watched in recent memory, and I just saw the Star Wars prequels.

Just saw the first episode and liked it enough to maybe watch some more. I found it more amusing than funny.

This pretty much sums me up. I’m a few episodes in. I like it well enough to keep watching but in no rush to do so. I have smiled a few times but no real laughs for me.

Watched the first episode and found it pretty amusing. With the talent involved and only 30 minutes, I'll see it through to the end.

I binged the whole thing last night and this morning. Is it the worst thing? No. But it is not so good either.
Remember that movie version of Get Smart that Carrell starred in? Well, this is like that. Some of it works and a lot of it doesn't. It even has an actress that looks like Anne Hathaway playing the daughter.
The problem is that the tone is all over the place. It's about the characters and workplace relationships. It's a broad political satire. It's about tension in a family.
The overall arc is sending a team to live on the moon. Are the stakes real or is it all a goof?
Some of the stuff is supposed to be serious and some of it is completely absurd. We're supposed to care about some characters and others are just buffoons. Another problem I had is that the go-to joke is that people are too stupid for their jobs, whatever that job might be.
Still, it is about 5 hours of easy to watch TV at a time when 5 free hours is easy to find.

Ars Technica gave it a really glowing review. Maybe this is a show that works better for nerds? If so, I'm in. Going to check it out this weekend.

Watched the pilot and I liked it. I’ll stick with it. Really good, recognizable cast.

I'm two episodes in, I'm enjoying it but it is not amazing or anything. Good cast though.

I watched the pilot and enjoyed the cast but didn't really respond to the humor. Watched about ten minutes of the second episode and the formula of someone saying something intelligent and Carrell saying something asinine in response just got me to switch to something else.

I gave it an episode and a half, but it's not funny at all, and not intelligent or well acted enough to counteract that.

Re: Space Force (Netflix) - from Greg Daniels & Steve Carell - premieres 5/29/20
I posted in the what did you binge thread that I finished this up over the weekend and look forward to a second season due to the ending where both sides are screwed. I think I would have liked it much less if I was not a fan of the cast. Even the PR(?) guy who I thought would be a character I find to be insufferable was good and his interaction with his nemesis (Janina Gavankar's PR rep) was great.
At first I was confused as to why so many critics were pointing out how disjointed the tone of the show is and were concerned about a cohesive identity for the show but I actually can start to appreciate why this frustrated some critics. The show never quite slotted itself into the dramedy tier, and it was definitely not a slapstick comedy nor a straight up comedy...lol, just like the critics I find it hard to pin down how to describe the show but I did enjoy it (it was not a hate-watch).

Watched the first 2 and it's ok. Amazing cast probably boosted my expectations too high. That being said, any comedic Malkovich content is worth watching, IMO.
