Yeah, if I was her, I'd retire while she still has many years to enjoy it.

Look at Al Franken. He resigned (I don't know why) and it has since been established that the main charges against him were fabricated, and the attacks on him where ginned up by right-wing media, but he is still persona non grata on the Left.

"I don’t discard a 40-year friendship on hearsay. The Ellen I know has raised over $125 million dollars for charity and has always been a kind and decent person. I fully support her." - Jay Leno

Yeah, well, I've heard Jay ain't exactly a saint either. And when people get into those levels of power, they tend to protect one another.

Yeah, I wouldn’t want Jay Leno to have my back...he’d stick a knife in it.

re: The Ellen DeGenereres Show
I really don't have anything to say on this other than I remember watching Ellen's first ever airing of the show when it premiered in 2003 and we used to watch it at the store where I worked every afternoon for close to three years. There is no doubt in my mind that in those early stages she was a legit good person trying to do good things and was happy about it. Maybe the years have taken a toll on her, they do everyone. Not saying that's an excuse, but I highly doubt she's run a toxic environment from the get go. Also, I have a feeling some of the people complaining about the environment have never experienced a truly toxic environment (or worked for Wal-Mart).

‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ Ousts Three Top Producers
...Three senior producers — executive producers Ed Glavin and Kevin Leman, and co-executive producer Jonathan Norman — have been ousted from the Warner Bros.-distributed syndicated strip following damning allegations raised in recent reports by Buzzfeed and Variety. “Ellen” veterans Mary Connelly, Andy Lassner and Derek Westervelt will remain at the show as executive producers alongside host DeGeneres. Connelly, Lassner and Westervelt have been with the show since its inception in 2003....

You gotta love Hollywood Liberals as they preach to us about diversity all day, yet Ellen has pretty much an all-white staff of higher-ups?
"Do as they say, not as they do"......

So...you feel there would be more diversity if Hollywood was run by conservatives?

3 of the 4 top producers of Steve Harvey's daytime talk show were black. Racist against whites?

I'd say put a fork in her...she's done. With all the bad press she's been getting lately, even if they brought her show back, the ratings wouldn't be there anymore and she'd just come across looking "fake" with the "See, I'm not mean!" smiles and BS. People will see right thru it all. Her show will get cancelled.

She can either be sincere and own up or down play it. Personally, I'd say get Anne Wintour and Martha Stewart on there as her first guests back.

It's about being a fraud, if your persona is queen of nice and you're caught being horrible it becomes an issue of the character your selling being believable. Letterman never tried to sell himself as anything other than who he was.
Personally, I always saw her as dryly sarcastic and sort of snarky and snippy, so its pretty on par with her actual character.

Can't 2 seperate things be true at once, there's a subset of social media warrior's who dislike her for defending Kevin Hart and being friends with George Bush Jr.....................but also there has been documentation for years she is an abusive boss way before the george bush thing. And there's multiple times of her being a**hole on air like outing Mariah Carey as pregnant, mocking a superfan who drew a painting of her, gasliting ariana grande about her social life which she did not want to talk about, making fun of celine dions grade school aged son for having long hair,or the time she humiliated some fan on national tv for taking an extra item in a swag giveaway etc.
