I’ll be in for this since it’s the wife's favorite show.
I hope Kevin can fix things and end up back with his ex. Seemed like too short of a story and they were good together. Not linking him headednoff with his seudo in-law.

Looking forward to this returning, but the heart-wrenching themes hinted at in last year's finale don't make me want to watch it more. I like that it's a series that's hopeful but tugs at your heart, but after last year's dramatic drawn-out look at Jack's death, I'm not sure I'm wanting to sit through that sort of storytelling again.

The season premiere was good, but I can't be the only one getting sick of Kate's whining, right? She is so self-absorbed and clueless to everyone around her.
The Randall storyline continues to be the highlight of the show for me.

Nice little twist with the follow up on the first date...
Solid start, going to be interesting to see where they take these fast forwards...

Same here. Who knew Superman and Zod would both have wives that liked the same thing?
As for me personally. I don't care about any of these people. They are all a dysfunctional wreck that seem to just seek out drama. The exact type of people I'd stay far away from.

They continue the quest to make Kate as unlikable as possible and drag Toby down with her. Seriously, it's becoming impossible to believe he puts up with her shit.
I'm quite interested if they are going anywhere with this Franco Harris thing. Seems an odd thing to include if they are not doing something more with it further down the road. Could Deja be related to Franco? Was trippy to see that interview with young Franco given my only encounters with him were during his short stint with the Seahawks after he should have retired.

Yeah, Kate continues to be really annoying. I get she keeps going through a lot, but enough with the breakdown woe is me speeches already. I guess we know what happens to Toby in that flash forward now. I guess we'll see a minute of future Randall, Tess, and company very slowly each episode.
Randall and Beth still crack me up, love the swear on Oprah scene. Jack/Rebecca had quite the awkward first date, it was nice to see how it ended.

That actor looked like the real Franco Harris unless it was stock footage.
Why only 18 episodes? I thought usually it is 22 or 23 episodes for most big 4 network dramas

It was specifically designed by the creator of the show to only be 18 episodes. Just like how The Good Place is only 13 per season.

How’d Randall get from Philly to New York so quickly?!?

Does Randall spend any time with his actual daughters any more? He seems to be strangely obsessed with Deja.

So the movie premiere was in New York?
I'm getting super confused now. Don't Kate and Toby live in California with Kevin? Was that their apartment with the fridge with the injection in it? Or were they staying with someone on the East coast?
As for Randall being so upset, he does go around calling William "his father" now and refers to Jack as being his adoptive father.

For the first time the location stuff really bugged me too. They mentioned flights/airports a couple times but t still didn't seem to line up. But what show ever does that well that doesn't just stick to one mall area?
Still despising Kate and enjoying everything else. Loved Toby's flip out on the family despite the fact that it was about defending Kate.

I don't care much for Kate's storyline this season or Randall's storyline with that apartment building. Kevin looking into Jack's past in Vietnam is the storyline that interests me the most.

I suspect Randall's story will improve once it turns into the inevitable ending of him becoming a career politician. As for Kate, I have no hope that will ever improve. Especially with the FF of depressed Toby.

This show is always confusing me with locations, but I heard someone say that Randall wouldn't be able to run for that office because he doesn't live in that place? Can anyone clarify?

I think it was supposed to be more of a near-death experience thing than a dream and had she decided to stay she would have died. It's interesting the mom wasn't in it.
Randall is too all over the place. He wants to be like Jack but Jack's focus was on his family and making lives better for them. Randall wants to be the hero for everyone everywhere and he's not focused on any one thing.

this show is losing its luster. the only scenes that work for me now are those with Jack and Rebecca, which remain fucking adorable, and Kevin's storyline.
