re: Manifest (Now on Netflix)

FYI, tonight is episode 16, the season finale.

I'm about 4-5 episodes behind, but will finish the season. I know interest has kind of died down on this show in this forum. It hasn't been renewed for a 2nd season yet. I'm guessing there are some here who are waiting on it's fate before the tackle another high concept serialized show that could get cancelled. And those will binge it much later.

Just enough interest we keep watching but they seem to be treading water. More needs to happen faster to keep viewers interested.

re: Manifest (Now on Netflix)

I keep watching, but they need to answer some questions instead of bringing up more. I'm coming to suspect that the show-runners don't have a clue what the answers are. And the season finale didn't seem like a season finale to me, just another show with a cliff-hanger.

Yeah, I didn't even realize that was the season finale. I was hoping for more secrets revealed by the end of the season. I'm not really interested enough to keep watching if it comes back. If there is more and people say it's worthwhile, I can binge it later. I don't have high hopes for that scenario, though.

Overall not bad, the last few episode were a bit flat

Some good story arcs, some silly ones

Renewed: https://deadline.com/2019/04/manifes...bc-1202596124/

So those who refused to watch this in the Fall can now start binging on Hulu

Damn; I bet my wife a dinner out it would get canceled and I was damn confident I was correct. Looks like I'm paying! Still not catching up and watching the rest of the season though. Show was hot garbage.

I was actually hoping the show would be canceled. I hate "breaking up" with shows once I've watched past a few episodes, but this was mostly terribly boring with a few interesting things along the way. Hopefully, they can make it more exciting next season.

re: Manifest (Now on Netflix)

I finally finished the season today. I had around 4 episodes left that I stalled on watching since the season ended 4 months ago. But, I binged them on Hulu since I've been sick the last week or so.

I didn't think it was as terrible as some here thought. I actually thought it was entertaining. I am glad it was a short season with only 16 episodes. It would have definitely spun it's wheels if it went the full 22.

Some elements did seem ridiculous and convoluted. The big reveal in the finale that the survivors will die in 2024 does seem to hint they are aiming for a 5 season arc. That is unless they do a time jump.

Only thing I hated about the finale was dumb cliffhanger with Zeke and Mick's ex fighting it out with the gun and then it goes off with their fates unknown. That's such a tired cliffhanger cliche. And then Grace revealing she's preggers with her boyfriend's baby.

But I am looking forward to seeing what they come up with in season 2.

Season 2 premieres tonight at 10pm

As you can see in my above post dated in mid June, I did manage to finish the first season and I was apparently in the minority that I didn't think it was terrible.

and FYI, season 2 is only 13 episodes, not 16 like the 1st season.

So they did resolve the cliffhanger from last season. Michaela ended up getting shot in the scuffle between Zeke and Jared. But, she did survive as expected.

and Zeke was on the run, but ended up turning himself in.

Vance being alive at the end was an interesting surprise.

Still a good tread between mystical and super-sciency with the visions, death dates and what not. Looking forward to seeing what the writers have up their sleeves.

I assumed he would be back because of the secrecy surrounding his "death", but I admit I was surprised by how he was reintroduced.

I still don't love this show, but I don't dislike it enough to give up on it. I do dislike the new police chief and the direction they seem to be going with Jared, but at least Adrian suddenly became interesting.

The police chief is a jerk just for the sake of being so, because she should listen to supernaturally-good detectives. It makes me wonder if she's in cahoots with the leakers.

That's why I hate children in modern TV dramas, especially the sci-fi dramas. They seemingly exist for no other purpose than to imperil everybody else through gross stupidity.

re: Manifest (Now on Netflix)

I;m caught up, been having it on the background whilst working

There's too much about the human goodies and baddies, and not enough exploration into actually what happened/is happening,

re: Manifest (Now on Netflix)

Manifest is the Mendoza line of TV shows. It's not quite bad enough to stop watching, not quite good enough to be super excited about. I think they need to move away from the "calling" of the week and reveal more of the actual events and what is really behind it.

Zeke and the golden glow - what the heck? (Still toeing the line between science and mystical ... )
Otherwise the Major dying was a surprise and fishing out the wing at the end was a twist ...
Any news on renewal?

Canceled: https://deadline.com/2021/06/manifes...ix-1234754237/

I still have a bunch of episodes left to watch, but I'm guessing they didn't explain the central mystery this season.

re: Manifest (Now on Netflix)

They killed off one of the main characters in the finale and had a lot of holes left. The creator developed this as a six season show. The first two seasons just premiered on Netflix last week and it’s number one in their trending shows.

I won’t spoil who died because windom says he’s massively behind.

I gave up trying to talk about Manifest here. There’s just too many shows on so many networks and platforms and no one is on the same page anymore keeping up with them.
