Too bad cable is in the rut or maybe USA Network or another network could have picked it up for season 6

The state of Hawaii only has NCIS Hawaii now, right?
I think they were hoping for a pickup and it probably looked good when they wrote and filmed the episode last April. It was in the can for awhile. The season 4 ending set to be the series finale.

Well, I’m about a month late, but I finished the final 2 episodes. That definitely was not set up as a “Series Finale”. There was still some loose ends with Patrick Fabian’s character Bedrosian. And we don’t get to see Rick’s wedding. It didn’t end on a cliffhanger, but I can’t really say it was satisfying.

Oh it is what it is. It was a pretty good run. Some people shot this down as a dumb remake, but it really developed an identity of its own as the series progressed. Glad NBC gave it 20 more episodes.

BTW, for those behind on the final season, the license with Peacock expires in a few weeks. February 18th.

I just finished the series last night (Blu Ray binge over 3 months). I loved it. I don't remember the original being that good or that fun.

I'm going to go through withdrawals now...

On Blu-Ray? The updated series was never released on Blu-Ray. Only DVD.

I can't speak to "good" since I have never seen the new series so I can't compare it to original on that, but the original was considered the definition of "fun" when it was released. There is humor throughout almost every episode and funny, shitty things happening to Magnum and his wacky cohorts was the main thrust of the series. I find it strange you don't remember the original being that fun when that was literally one of the main aspects of that show.
