Frasier had higher ratings than Mad About You, and has fared far better in syndication.

Frasier without Niles,Roz,Daphe or Martin is like Joey without Ross/Rachel/Chandler/Monica and Phoebe

I am seeing this as most likely to flop

So is Frasier without Sam, Norm, Cliff, Carla and Woody - but that turned out pretty good, didn't it?
Yeah, I know Frasier wasn't the star of Cheers... but I do agree with you. It's hard to strike gold again with the same old character.

I guess it won't be set in Seattle again?

Other than Rosanne/The Conners - have any of these "revivals" been successful?

Not a great example since the Mad About You revival was on a channel nobody had.
But nobody tuned into the revivals of Murphy Brown or Will & Grace either, and those were on Network TV.
I assume the ratings for And Just Like That had to be good for this to get a green light.

I thought Craig T Nelson had died (he has not).

If Mad About You had been on an accessible platform I would have looked at least at one episode.

It was pretty good. A few clunker episodes but it was getting better when it was pulled.

Frasier without Sam, Rebecca, Norm, Cliff, Woody, and Carla sounded like a flop too, but it lasted eleven years.

Mad About You didn't have the fan following that Frasier did. Neither did Murphy Brown. They were mostly forgotten 1990's tv shows. Mad About You had a finale that showed what happened to them years later as did Will & Grace. All that had to be retconned to make a revival series work, which may not have gone over as well. Frasier ended on a cliffhanger and we didn't know what happened next.

I wonder if they are rebuilding the set from Cheers.

Maybe this will answer who works the day shift.

A friend of mine and his wife saw the first taping yesterday. He said it was really good and should satisfy long time fans.

I'm excited to check this out when they release it. I was a big fan of Cheers and Frasier.

Man, I looked at IMDB to see who else is in the cast. I don't know how complete that list is, but it's really a bunch of unknowns. The only one that I knew at all was the woman who memorably played Robin in the first five minutes of the The Boys pilot.

Grammer has played Fraiser in 202 episodes of Cheers, 263 Episodes of Fraiser, 1 episode of Wings, 1 episode of Wonderful World of Disney.
I checked to see if he could challenge James Arness as Matt Dillon. Turns out this show would have to run a VERY long time, as he played Marshall Dillon in 635 episodes. Life before reruns,

They've got nothing on some Soap actors who've been playing the same character for 30+ years and 1,000 - 5,000+ episodes.

Interesting that it will be set in Boston. I wonder if that opens the door for some guest starring roles from Cheers alumni. I wouldn’t expect it to be a frequent thing but maybe every so often Frasier goes there. Could make this more interesting to me.

They won't bring back the set. They didn't on the episode of Frasier when he went back to Boston. There are all sorts of legal issues with using that set. But characters? Sure.

I wonder if Laura Linney was offered a spot in this or if they were never planning on bringing back her character.

saw him about 6 months ago in Malibu. I wasn’t sure. He got a coffee at blue bottle and got into an old 911. I googled his height and was like yup. That’s him
