Can't help but think of the final season of Scrubs when reading about this.

Yeah, this show went downhill in a big way. The last couple of years with Carrell were not good, and despite having an open mind about it, everything after ended up being even worse after he left.

This gives me hope that NBC will revive "My Name Is Earl" soon. There would actually be a point to it because he never got to finish off his list!

Someone here shared a link awhile back that had an interview with the creator where he was asked about Earl finishing the list. He said he planned on Earl never finishing it but his idea was that he would show how Earl's good deeds would have spread like a ripple effect. I thought that was a cool idea. Too bad we never got to that point. It was a fun show.

I was a big fan of The Office, but agree the last few seasons were pretty poor or mediocre. I think it's too early to resume the series, but I'd still watch it to see how it is.

Forgot about Catalina. What was her relationship to Earl? I think she married his brother at one point.
It seemed like that actress was poised to become big star. She could've been another Sofia Vergara.

I wouldn't be stunned if Jenna Fischer came back, and story wise it could work. Theoretically, if Jim and Pam moved back to Scranton it would still be a good job for her, and Dwight would rehire her. It's just hard to imagine Krasinski doing anything more than a guest spot, and as a character beat it would be Jim at his lowest (other than his drunk driving escapades).

I'll probably watch but I won't be surprised if I don't stick around past the first episode. I can't imagine they'll be able to recapture the magic of the first few seasons of the show.
She was fantastic in her small role in that Denzel Washington movie Flight. Stole the movie.

Is there any reason why the revival would have be set at the same office/company? It could be a completely different environment with a whole new cast. Why would the documentary crew want to film more at the same place? Was their first documentary such a big hit that they have to go back?

There's no way they can go into this and not give us some hook back to Dunder Mifflin. No way. As bad as an idea as I think this is, it would be much much worse if you use the name of a recent sitcom for a completely different environment and cast unless you're rebooting it, which it's much too soon to do.

Considering all the news in the last year,I wouldn't be surprised to find out Nadine Velazquez rejected some bigshot producer and got largely blacklisted.

She plays Jackie Ortiz, a no-nonsense wife of a Navy SEAL, on the History Channel military drama “Six,” which was renewed for a second season. The series is produced by A+E Studios in association with Weinstein Television, a division of the Weinstein Co. co-founded by Bob and Harvey Weinstein. Deadline.com reported last month that Harvey Weinstein's name is being removed from TV shows since he was fired from the company amid a sexual abuse scandal.
Velazquez, 38, said she is also developing a television series based on an incident that happened while she was growing up here.
“It has to do with sexual abuse, so the content is very timely with everything that’s happening in the industry right now with certain producers and directors, following the whole #MeToo campaign,” Velazquez said.
“I feel like people ask me, they’re like, ‘What’s your experience with ‘Me Too’? And I haven’t really spoken about that. I know that one of our lead actresses, (‘Six’ co-star) Olivia Munn, just finished a piece for the LA Times on (director) Brett Ratner (with) other actresses as well. And I don’t have an entertainment industry story that is as severe as some of these ladies have had, but I’ve had my share of run-ins or potential situations that would make me incredibly uncomfortable.”
