Just out of curiosity is this the only show other than Mash and Trapper John MD to have two different actors playing the same character simultaneously on different shows.

I don't watch any of them, so I wouldn't know - but that must have happened by now on at least one of the many comic-book TV shows, no?

Didn't find this funny at all. Seems like it wants to be "The Wonder Years" minus any comedy or human emotion.

"Trapper John, MD" started a few years after Wayne Rogers left M*A*S*H.

Youre right. For some reason I had thought that it overlaped a season or two. From what I read, Trapper John M.D. was offi ually a spinoff of the movie and not the tv series, but in reality it was spun off the tv series but they couldnt say that due to legal issues.

I was actually thinking of that when I was posting the question. They are almost the same character.

That's the part that will keep me watching. She (the actress) is essentially a pulling off better version of the same character he real life mom plays on the original. The older version of the mom is just way too over the top.

If this continues to be a huge hit, they should crank out as many episodes as possible. Sheldon was only in high school for 2 years (ages 9-11). They should make 4 years worth of seasons before the actor looks older than 11. Sheldon goes to college at 11, so they'd have to switch the setting up somewhat.

The actress (Zoe Perry) that plays the young version of the mom is the same actress that played a young Jackie on Roseanne.

Because she is Laurie Metcalf’s daughter.

I personally didn't care for it at all. I realize you can't judge a show just by the pilot, but even Parsons can push the envelope from funny to just annoying. This kid is just annoying. I sat wondering if this show was supposed to be a comedy.

The problem I have is I watched the pilot, didn't mind it but with the huge cap between the pilot and the second episode I basically will have forgotten about the show. Makes no sense to me why they would put the pilot episode on so far in advance of the rest of the season.

How do you know we're not seniors?

Apparently highest rated new show. Not sure if it's a fair comparison given the curiosity level and the Big Bang lead was bound to produce some big numbers.
