Ryan Devlin, the host of Are You The One?, is stepping down and Terrence J who hosted the After Show is going to replace him. I'm going to miss Ryan especially when he gave the contestants a hard dose of reality. Here's his post from twitter.

That's not good news. I've watched Terrence Jenkins when he was on E! News for quite awhile and he's pretty bad.
Maybe Ryan will be able to get his acting career going again. He was originally cast as the son of William Shatner on that CBS sitcom a few years back but was replaced.

I think many people are going to try to get on Are You The One? just to audition for the The Challenge now with no real plan to play the dating game. I think that was a big problem with the last season. I'm not a big fan of Terrence J. He wasn't prepared at all when he was hosting the after show last season. He called guests by the wrong name which I would consider a major hosting no no.

I saw the promo for the new season and wanted to go ahead and start a thread for it. This season will feature 11 men and 11 women looking for love and a share of $1 million. Season 6 will take place in New Orleans, LA and will have Terrence J taking over as the host.

Anyone catch the premiere last night? I miss Ryan as the host. There are some good looking women this season. It amazes me though that people hook up the first night with cameras everywhere, but I just guess it's no different than one night stands with strangers people meet at bars....

What's up with the slight change in format? First episode only had a truth booth. Second episode finally got to the light beam ceremony in the middle of the episode, then the episode ended with the truth booth cliffhanger. Maybe they find all matches early so they need to stretch the episodes out?

They must do that or maybe a bunch of the cast leaves? They could be stretching out the episode count to have a cheaper cost per episode $1 million divided by 13 episodes instead of 10?

It was pretty amazing that they managed to still win with only one perfect match the whole season. They also got the full million by avoiding a blackout, so they won more than season 3 which had a blackout. Hopefully some of the crazy ones will show on The Challenge.

I was shocked that they won. It helped that they had a guy who studied probability and statistics at Virginia Tech this season. I think he figured it out after guessing wrong last week. I'm interested to see if any of this cast ends up on The Challenge. I have been kind of disappointed with the Are You The One? cast that ends up making it on The Challenge. It seems that none of really good looking women make it on the there.

Season 7 was announced a few days ago. It will premiere on Wednesday, August 15th at 10/9c. The have added a fate button for this season. MTV today announced that its popular dating competition series will return as "Are You The One? Season of Fate." Hosted by Terrence J., the new season will premiere on Wednesday, August 8th at 10:00PM ET/PT. The summer heats up when 22 singles jet off to Hawaii to undergo the series' signature matchmaking process in hopes of finding their "perfect match" and splitting a $1 million cash prize. "Are You The One?" tackles the question, "If your perfect match was standing right in front of you, would you even know it?" This season the contestants have one thing in common: dysfunctional relationship habits. With the help of Terrence J., these singles will try to find their pre-selected partners as determined by a rigorous process carried out by a team of professional matchmakers and psychologists. The new "Season of Fate" will introduce a "Fate Button." In previous seasons, the contestants were able to go on dates with the person of their choosing by winning challenges. This time, the "Fate Button" will determine which couples will go on dates and ultimately play a role in who enters the "Truth Booth." Contestants will not only have to surrender to the matchmaking process, but also put their faith in fate to find their perfect match.

Yeah, I'm debating dropping this season. Nutsa is the only hot one. What a huge dropoff from last season which had like 6-7 smoking hotties.

There aren't many times I talk to the TV but I had to say "Bria's fucking crazy" at least half a dozen times out loud while watching the two hour premiere. 
There are a few hotties on the show but the cast appears mostly uninteresting...but that seems to have happened gradually since the first season of this show. I will end up watching most of this season in fast forward just to keep up who will end up on future editions of The Challenge. Just as I did with the past several seasons of this show and The Real World.

Anyone still watching? I'm not really enjoying this season. It doesn't help that Maria went to the honeymoon suite already. She's one of the best looking women on this season. I also don't like that they got rid of the date competitions and made the dates totally random now. The show just mainly focuses on house drama now...

Whoa, I just read the fine print in the end credits. It says that contestants will receive their share of the $1 million prize in an annuity over 30 years(!) or they can take a lump sum for the present value.
So on a winning season without a blackout, each person would get $45454.54. I'm not sure exactly how the annuity is paid out, but figure it would be around $1500 a year. I wonder what the lump sum would be. Around $20-25K maybe?
