re: Marvel’s Inhumans Set At ABC For Fall 2017

Hell On Wheels star Anson Mount has been tapped as the lead, Black Bolt, in Marvel’s Inhumans, the new ABC series, which will get an Imax debut.
“Marvel’s Inhumans” will explore the never-before-told epic adventure of the royal family including Black Bolt (Mount), the enigmatic, commanding King of the Inhumans, with a voice so powerful that the slightest whisper can destroy a city.
Mount joins recently cast Iwan Rheon (Game of Thrones) who will play Black Bolt’s brother, Maximus.
Marvel’s Inhumans is executive produced by Scott Buck, who serves as showrunner, Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory for Marvel Television and ABC Studios.
“Anson loves the challenge of playing a character who will only communicate silently,” said Loeb, Head of Marvel Television. “His enthusiasm mixed with his imposing almost regal persona made it easy to see why he is our Black Bolt.”
Added Buck, “Black Bolt is a character whose deep complexity must be conveyed without uttering a single word, and I’m very excited to have Anson on board to bring him to life.”
Roel Reine will direct the first two episodes of Inhumans, which will premiere exclusively in Imax theaters for a two-week window in September, prior to the network run.
Marvel’s Inhumans, which follows a race of superhumans with diverse and singularly unique powers, were introduced in Marvel Comics by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1965. Since that time, they have grown in prominence and become some of the most popular and iconic characters in the Marvel Universe.
Mount is coming off a five-season run on AMC’s popular Western drama Hell On Wheels, on which he played the lead, Cullen Bohannon. He is repped by UTA and Brookside Artist Management.

I'll be very interested in seeing how they deal with Black Bolt, a character that remains silent 99% of the time.

Man I used to be such a big fan of the Inhumans back when they just showed up every once in a while. Now they're just a constant reminder that they're a poor replacement for mutants, and I get bitter that we're getting this instead of, say, a New Mutants show that would actually have production values.

Another member of the Inhumans royal family has been cast: Ken Leung (Lost, The Night Shift) has been added as Karnak, the cousin and closest advisor to Black Bolt (Anson Mount).
From ABC: “His gift is an ability to see the fault in all things – people, plans, structures, everything. He’s Black Bolt’s most ardent supporter and strategist and is often seen as the royal family’s planner and philosopher.”
“Ken brings both a wisdom and a power to the role that no one else could match,” said executive producer Jeph Loeb. “His Karnak will be awesome.”
Adds showrunner Scott Buck: “Ken Leung has a great natural intelligence that reads clearly and will add depth and complexity to the very complicated character of Karnak.”
In addition to Leung and Mount, Iwan Rheon (Game of Thrones) will portray Maximus, and Serinda Swan (Ballers) will play Medusa.
Marvel’s Inhumans comes to ABC this fall.

re: Marvel’s Inhumans Set At ABC For Fall 2017
ABC has rounded out the cast of its groundbreaking Marvel drama Inhumans.
Set to join the cast of the Imax-produced series are Eme Ikwuakor, Isabelle Cornish, Mike Moh, Sonya Balmores and Ellen Woglom, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The Inhumans, a race of superhumans with diverse and unique powers, were first introduced in Marvel Comics by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1965. The ABC show explores the never-before-told epic adventure of the royal family, including Black Bolt, the enigmatic, commanding King of the Inhumans, with a voice so powerful that the slightest whisper can destroy a city.
The drama is being written and executive produced by Dexter alum Scott Buck, who serves as showrunner. Feature director Roel Reine will helm the first two hours of the series, which in a ground-breaking deal will bow in 1,000 Imax theaters over Labor Day weekend for a two-week run before extended episodes air on ABC as part of the network's official fall season launch. Marvel's Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory also exec produce the project, which hails from Marvel Television and ABC Studios.
Here's a look at the complete cast and who everyone is playing:
Hell on Wheels' Anson Mount as Black Bolt
Black Bolt is the enigmatic and commanding King of the Inhumans who has a voice so powerful that the slightest whisper can destroy a city.
Graceland's Serinda Swan as Medusa
Medusa is the queen of the Inhumans and wife of Black Bolt — his most trusted adviser, a fiercely resilient warrior who has the ability to move and control her hair the way most people use their hands and fingers.
Game of Thrones' Iwan Rheon as Maximus
Maximus is a clever and charming Inhuman who is fiercely devoted to the people of Attilan, especially his brother, Black Bolt, the king — though he harbors an intense desire to wear the crown himself.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Ken Leung as Karnak
Karnak is Black Bolt's cousin and closest adviser. His gift is an ability to see the fault in all things — people, plans, structures, everything. He's Black Bolt's most ardent supporter and strategist and is often seen as the royal family's planner and philosopher.
Eme Ikwuakor (Concussion) as Gorgon
Gorgon is the cousin of Black Bolt and a member of the royal family who is the leader of Attilan’s military. With super strong legs, complete with hooves, he can generate destructive seismic waves with a single stomp. The ying to his cousin Karnak’s yang, Gorgon would rather fight than talk to solve his problems.
Isabelle Cornish (Australia Day) as Crystal
Crystal is Medusa's sister and the youngest member of the royal family who has the ability to control the elements. Impetuous and independent she is also deeply devoted to her family.
Mike Moh (Empire) as Triton
Triton is Black Bolt's cousin who is calm under pressure and supremely athletic. His gift is his fish — like the ability to live underwater.
Sonya Balmores (Soul Surfer) as Auran
Auran is head of the Royal Guards on Attilan, a capable and no-nonsense woman. She is fiercely loyal to the King of Attilan.
Ellen Woglom (Californication) as an undisclosed character
The mystery character is smart, intense and focused — so focused that oftentimes social skills take a back seat. Her job at a private aerospace company is her life, second only to her passion for all things space and lunar. She’s primed to be swept up in an adventure.
Lockjaw as Crystal’s 2,000-pound canine companion
The sizable pooch has the ability to teleport.
"With Eme, Isabelle, Mike, Sonya and Ellen portraying the rest of our leading roles, we have a strong cast that is going to add tremendous depth to our Royal Family,” Buck said.
Specific launch dates for the Imax debut as well as ABC premiere have not yet been determined.

First off, sunny and shady are just literal meanings of the Chinese words that's most likely from Google Translate, they have multiple meanings. Second, using your terms, it is yin that means shady and yang that is sunny. Lastly, within the context of the original article, it is Gorgon who is really a yang (hothead, act before he thinks, impulsive) and Karnak is the yin (calculating, cunning, does not reveal his emotions or true feelings). The original
was for just that, the writer wrote exactly the opposite of what he/she meant. For anyone that actually have interests in the other meanings should take a look at the wiki.

Re: Marvel’s Inhumans Set At ABC For Fall 2017
I think I'm gonna pass. It looks like it might be interesting, but ABC has a track record of watering things down as part of their 'family vibe' and I have dropped just about every show I've ever picked up that aired on ABC. So I have little hope this wouldn't just be more of the same and I'm already watching way too many comicbook adapted shows as-is and don't really want to add anymore to my weekly watching schedule that I barely manage to keep up with.

I'll wait for it to hit TV. This isn't the type of thing I go to the movies for- if it's free I might consider it.

8 episodes, sure why not?
But, I'm not going to pay $14-15 to see the Pilot in an IMAX theater when it will be free on TV later on.
