A friend had not seen the show, so we started watching it from the beginning. I'll probably pick up on those easter eggs folks have been jizzing their pants on.

My wife, daughter, and I watched the first ep last night before we went to bed.

The wife fell asleep.

My daughter seemed to be on the edge of her seat.

So I thought it would be fun to scare her as she entered her room to go to bed, which made her cry.

I'm with you there. That's the only negative thing I can say about the show.

I am through 4 episodes; ALL the acting is incredible including hers. It is some of the best she has ever done.

Well, perhaps it's not her acting that sucked, but her role/lines, in my opinion. What you see thru four episodes is it. It's a one-note character.

She was a little cringe-y in the second episode, the rest has been fine.

Could be worse. She could have a protruding pineal gland. How would THAT be for an easter egg?

From what I remember seeing at the beginning of the first episode, this takes place in 1983, but I've heard two songs now from later years, Hazy Shade of Winter (Bangles) from 1985 and Sunglasses at Night (Corey Hart) from 1984.

No, it's her, not the lines. She went full retard.

I like that line by the kid without teeth - in the first episode as they're all going home.

"Kiss your mom goodnight for me."

I thought Rider was over the top at first, but after the second episode I got used to her and thought she did a great job with the character and I totally felt her pain with all the crap that was going on.

Very well done series. Liking more and more as the story progressed. Good acting by the kids and Harbour.

Winona's performance sticks out like a sore thumb. At least in the first couple of eps.

Are there any thoughts on the Sheriff's motivations?

Spoiler:
I assume the deal he made with Matthew Modine was let him & Winona go get Will and he'll tell them where Eleven is. But I don't follow the very end when the Gov't guys got him at the hospital, and then he seems to leave food for Eleven in a box in the woods. Was that also part of the deal? Are we even supposed to know at this point?

^ For me, they're just breadcrumbs to keep me intrigued for season two. I'm sure those things will be clear early on.

When they picked the chief up leaving the hospital... they may have needed to coordinate with him on covering things up. There were a lot of dead bodies in the school, in addition to some property damage. Plus he needed to deal with families of the other missing people that the monster took. I imagine the chief figured it was better to help with a cover-up than try to tell people that a monster from another dimension was taking people and a little girl with psychic powers destroyed it.

missing person. Barbs and the diner owner are the only ones who died other than the varied G-men. Barbs was too good for this world, I tell you.

Very well done. Finished it last night. Ryder's acting was still top notch. I wonder if this was always planned to be a one-off event or right from the start they planned more than one season?

I liked how it wrapped up.

The way the ending was written, it would satisfy if it turned out to be a single season. But, with some of it being open-ended, I think they were going for multiple seasons.

Netflix is still working out the contracts it seems, but everybody is expecting Netflix to make a formal announcement soon.

Matthew Modine said it was already renewed a few weeks ago, the creators have already discussed ideas about Season 2.
