Trailer looks awesome. I'm totally down to try that.

This should be available tomorrow. I've been looking forward to it.

It should fit in well with this month's Sci-Fi/Fantasy challenge.

Heck yeah, that trailer really sold me into the show.

Just watched the first episode. Still early into the show, but so far it's like the best of early Spielberg and Stephen King, without completely trying to rip off either. Will probably watch a couple of more episodes right now.

Just watched 2 episodes. Was planning to only watch one but I was hooked after the first. I'm really impressed so far. Since it's only 8 episodes I'm sure I'll be through this in no time. The best of early Spielberg and Stephen King comment is spot on.

That's a nice fake Struzan poster. They should get that guy to do the posters for the new Star Wars movies. (Is that Paul Shipper art?)

I marathoned the whole thing. I'd recommend spreading it out (1-2 episodes a day). Watching it all at once, like a 6 1/2 hour movie, it seemed much too long.

Overall it was very enjoyable. They had the 80's feeling down perfect. Although, it was closer to Stephen King than Stephen Spielberg.

So, it's a little bit scary?
I was planning to watch this with my daughter, but she's not into scary stuff. I love horror though. I would probably watch first by myself and decide.

Wasn't on my radar but is now. I need to give my sister shit. She works for Netflix and she never tells me about the good stuff coming out.

I'll check out an ep or two this weekend sometime. Looks good and I still like Ryder...

It has a few "creepy" aspects, less than scary. It's more of an occasionally unsettling atmosphere. This show would be rated PG-13 / TV 14 due to some language ("shit", "don't be a pussy"), stuff that would have been PG in 1983.

I love the opening titles

Just watched episode 1. I'm a sucker for well-done "retro" shows so this is right up my alley. Style-wise, it's like John Carpenter directing a PG-rated lost early Stephen King book. With some early Dean Koontz in there too (his early books were big on escaped creatures and government experiments gone wrong).

I'm really wanting the teenage horndog Steve character to get eaten by a monster. Though I fear he's the long-lasting teen love interest instead :(

2 episodes in Wynona Ryder's over-acting is annoying but aside from that its pretty good.

The family binge watched this entire season yesterday. We enjoyed the hell out of this. This is the type of show I wish there were more of. I'd love for a season 2 to happen. Soundtrack was awesome. The whole retro feel was great. This was The Goonies, The Explorers and ET all thrown in with some creepy elements from Outer Limits.

I watched the entire run in one sitting, sleeping a few hours in between episodes 6 and 7. I was up until about 3 in the morning watching this.

I saw so many influences here. From E.T. to Stand By Me to 70's/80's John Carpenter to Super 8 to X-Files to H.P. Lovecraft. It's like someone mixed them in a bowl and this is what came out.

I loved every second of it. I had been looking forward to this one anyway, but I expected to be let down. I wasn't. All of the child actors did great, as did Winona Ryder (although at first, I was a little put off by her). The story is multi-layered and the characters are three-dimensional.

They could have cast "prettier" actors and actresses, but the fact that a lot of them were "normal" types helped make a science fiction/horror series seem about as real as it could possibly be considering the source material. I really liked the girl who played Nancy and Matthew Modine, with limited dialogue, was more interesting than I've ever seen him in anything. I usually find him a bore.

They left some stuff open for a Season 2, but most of the big questions are answered, but I had a blast watching this one and was a little bummed there weren't more episodes. However, they filled the time up with very little filler and told a complete story, which was fun to watch unravel. I highly recommend this.

Just finished powering through this series, and I loved the whole season. It was like Goonies meets X-Files. Really good casting, kids did a great job.

Loved everything about the series, but the kids were definitely the true stand outs. They were legit.

Excellent series, hope we get more. It seemed like a lost series from the 80s.

I was thinking of breaking this up into today and tomorrow but I just might finish it all today.

I really liked it, and it was really well done. But I think I would've liked it better as a two-hour movie.
