Great episode, but I was bummed to see Roose killed off. Almost as much as I was to see Prince Doran.
I just can't help but wonder if D&D are thinking "well, we need to start wrapping things up, so any possible loose ends will be killed off"
I thought the scene with Ramsay was great. What a sick fuck.

Don't read unless you're a book reader.
I also liked the flashback with Bran. Can't wait to see more.
I guess the introduction of Euron was OK. Excited to see more Iron Islanders stuff.
Oh, and Jon. Not the least surprised. Still cool to see him back.

I hated to see Roose go as well. He was cunning and twisted, but certainly lacked Ramsay's love for torture and brutality. Even he was appalled at Ramsay's suggestion to just murder the Knights Watch. lol I figured Ramsay would push him too far and an epic showdown would occur sometime.
OTOH, I like seeing a return to season 1 Jamie instead of kinder gentler Jamie. Loved the showdown with the head cult leader guy.
That was the most predictable cliffhanger of the series. lol Although they did have me doubting a bit at the end since GOT loves to steal the hope from fans.
Are we ever going to see Sam again?

ugh, hate losing roose.
Who's this baylon's brother guy? Have we heard about him before now?
When Aliser said it was time to open up the door, I really wanted Davos to be like "uh...did you bring the mutton?"love that guy, which means he's probably dying
Oh, and wan-wan slamming that guy against the wall like a rag doll has to be one of the best kills of the series

Tough scene with the Bolton baby. You knew what was going to happen, but impactful, regardless.
Welcome back, Jon Snow! I wonder if there'll be any interesting side effects. I hope we get to see him slaughter his killers.

So would Ramsey have killed his father if his new child had been a girl? I'm assuming that he was was waiting for that news before he actually killed his father or not.

The giant-splatter kill was dope and so was Mountain-Frankenstein smashing dude's skull in the wall after the peasant was talking shit about Cerci. He hears all, I suppose.
As far Snow waking up and all that good shit at first I thought he wouldn't, because the only other person that I have seen bring people back from the dead was the priest guy who brought back the guy The Hound split in half in that cave fight a couple of seasons ago - the dude that had the fire sword (Lord of Light?). Looks like Milasandre is full of surprises. She probably used her own life force to bring Snow back. I wouldn't be surprised if she stops being able to cloud the minds of men and folks start to see her in her hag form.

Not surprised by it but I thought Snow's revival was a cheap plot twist. This better have a much better payoff than he magically returns to save the day. It was one of the first major plot developments in GOT history I thought needed a far more involved set-up. I guess the showrunners were afraid fans would get bored if his return took any longer.
I was surprised they pulled back from showing the full brunt of the kennel scene. Now that would have been a shocking scene in television history.

I'm curious to see if Jon is really his old self or if he came back missing something. It will be interesting to see how Ghost reacts to him.

Well, well, well,
Glad I was wrong about Jon Snow's fate. Him being brought back to life by Melisandre is obviously going to have some kind of side effects.
Fuck, Ramsay Bolton is a piece of shit.
He's pretty close for me on Joffrey hate levels. I hope he eventually dies a grisly death. I'm glad they cut away and didn't show the murder of a mother and newborn on camera.

While the ending of this episode has been obvious for months (even down to the over-used gasp for air/cut to credits), I still loved it!

This marks the first episode where a Game of Thrones character is born and murdered in the same episode. Fucking brutal.
I'm also disappointed about Roose's murder. He was a very fun villain to watch, and he'll be missed.

That's what hard living does to ya.
Yup. Body count will be increasing each week, especially if the producers want to have less episodes in the final season as rumored.
Roose was like Tywin in that he was ruthless but not slobbering, mad-dog psychopathic. Sure, he liked a good flaying as much as the next guy, but only when it served a purpose.
Upon reflection, it might have been more surprising (and fitting) if Roose had been the one to dispatch his crazy bastard during the hug. The charming villains are getting knocked off; evidently they're the next to go after the sociopaths run out of good guys to kill.
I'm sure that there will be a small minority complaining about the "cheat" of reviving Jon (assuming that he's really back to stay, which seems pretty obvious). I think most had become resigned to his death but don't mind having another one to cheer for back (did this give Han fans hope?), and the producers passed on Lady Stoneheart already and they already have a warg in training in Bran. There would be a much greater outcry if they revived Jon only to dispatch him again immediately (which, admittedly, would be a real twist).
My one disappointment was not getting to see Ghost rip Ser Alistair's head from his body & toss it over the walls of Castle Black. That would have been very satisfying.
Maybe Jon & The Red Woman can become the new power couple in the North (and beyond). He has a penchant for redheads, and she was a cougar even before the Magic Mirror revealed all.
