I think this just about everytime I read a thread on this forum about this show and many others. So many armchair killers post here it's just ridiculous. Yeesh.

I think that might have the case for the women with Dwight who were trying to escape in the truck. (Dwight is the fellow who stole Daryl's bike and crossbow for those who don't remember. I also don't think they gave his name in the episode, but later confirmed he was Dwight.)

Well I loved this episode but I did have a problem with Carol telling Paula to run away. After all the shit she gave Morgan for letting the Wolf go I just don't see why she would do that.

She was definitely pretending. She even talked to Rick in a meek, trembling voice on the radio, which was the first clue.

I thought this was a good ep. I think it's interesting that at this point, we have yet to meet a group of people who have claimed more lives than Rick's group. They are truly dangerous and it's becoming obvious.

Michelle and Paula were upset by our heroes' murderous actions. Although Paula understood taking out the biker gang, were the Saviors unaware of the Hilltop murder and hostage? How about the Polaroids?
Also, is Primo a name or a rank?

Do people really want these characters to be cold, emotionless robots gunning everyone down? I'd much rather have a glimpse of humanity and/or something worth fighting for from time to time.

There was some pretending, but clearly not everything was pretending. Carol was still acting that way even when there was no longer a reason to act that way. She refused to kill Paula twice, and both times were well past the point of needing to pretend any more.

I think what we have is a lot of satellite groups used by the Saviors to keep communities in check. The large group in the communication building was there to watch over Hilltop.

She's got a potential love interest and a period of quite for a few months and that's gotten her to soften up emotionally. She's finally taken a look at her actions and they're frightened her. So her being hesitant to rack up additional kills is something she is trying to avoid.
Now at the same time she was also playing up her whole terrified house-mom act that she goes into to have everyone drop their guard around her. That was her "act". Just because she was avoiding killing doesn't mean she was suddenly not going to try and save herself.

I guess I have no soul because I was yelling at her to just shoot the Savior.

I think in recent episodes Carol has been feeling some guilt about things she did in killing people in the past, so Morgan is having some influence on her. I think she may be at a point where she hesitates to kill a human if there's another alternative.
And I think that may be why she she told Paula (Alicia Witt) to leave instead of just killing her on the spot. And that possibly was also because Paula didn't kill her earlier when the guy who she shot in the arm wanted her to. Carol may have thought "if Paula acted like I have in just killing someone on the spot, then I would be dead now." So maybe that alone earned Paula a 2nd chance in Carol's mind.
And her "Meek Carol" persona to mislead others is less of a performance and really just Carol behaving like she did for most of her life until she had to toughen up since they were at the prison. It is an act, but it is her acting like herself just a few years earlier so doing the persona reminds her of when she was just a nice, caring person and may cause even more self-reflection on her own humanity.
I also think that because Paula figured out that "Meek Carol" was what Carol was actually like before the apocalypse may have made Carol more sympathetic towards letting Paula live just for understanding who she once was and possibly a self that she wishes she could be again before the world turned upside down.

To the people who think Carol was behaving out of character, have you ever seen Pulp Fiction? Or more specifically, the diner scene with Jules?
Or barring that, seem to think she has been completely ignoring what Morgan has been saying, every time they interact?

2 girls that Daryl initially met. (Plus that guy's arm.)
8 bikers Daryl blew up.
Compound somewhere between 1-2 dozen, maybe more.
Carol/Maggie took out another 7 or 8 in this one.

Thought Melissa McBride was great once again last night. Not too hard to figure out that she was faking being scared and pathetic. Great acting by her changing her emotions in that situation.
I know Negan isn't supposed to be introduced until the Finale, but I'm looking forward to seeing if Jeffrey Dean Morgan really plays him as the evil badass we're led to believe he is. I'm assuming he'll be a regular next season since The Good Wife is ending.
And I don't think Polly was as bad/evil as she seemed. She made some difficult choices to survive, especially after the death of her family (as she told). Right now for most of these people it's about looking out for yourself and survival.

I'm afraid of Jeffrey Dean Morgan showing up in the season finale and then being replaced by Dermot Mulroney next season.

I wonder if there's a chance of Paula showing up on Fear the Walking Dead at some point? I really do wish they would give us some one-off mini-movies like they had originally planned.
