Carol and Maggie must fight for their lives after being taken by a group of Saviors. Episode 13 of 16 |
Re: The Walking Dead (S6E13) -- "The Same Boat" -- 3/13/16
Two different groups leave Alexandria on supply runs. While both are concerned with the future of the community, immediate danger will derail them. |

Solid episode.

Slow episode. Carol seemed out of character in this episode. Alica Witt would have made a much better Mary Jane Watson when she was younger than Kirsten Dunst.

The group is up around 50-0 against the saviors so far.

Carol was out of character because she was pretending to be out of character.

That was a great episode. I really liked all the female Saviors, and was kind of sad to see them go. In that one episode, they were all more interesting than anyone out of Alexandria. "You're not the good guys. You should know that." Finally someone said it! It's true I am convinced. |

Exactly, she was out of character because she was waiting for her moment. Carol would've been a hell of an undercover agent.

She was pretending this week one hundred percent in my opinion. All crying and hysterical with the rosary, all the while using it to cut off her restraints. Feeling guilty last week doesn't mean she won't burn you alive this week.

Best season of TWD, so far.

Total filler episode, but still good.

Rick: You OK? Carol: No. Maggie (to Glen): I can't do it anymore. And that's just the end. Earlier Carol talks about not killing the Negan guy and that she didn't miss, she just didn't want to kill him (even though she says she should have). And she obviously didn't want to kill the Negan redhead. It's not jump the shark or anything for me, but it is noticeable that suddenly Carol is reluctant to kill. Is Morgan rubbing off on her? Is that why she is keeping his secrets? I've been kind of skimming the threads as I got tired of all the hints about who is coming and what their character is like (Jesus, Negan, and some woman whose name I've already successfully forgotten), but I have to say, I'm curious to know if there is really a single Negan person at this point. Still, I'll resist my temptation to spoil myself and just let it play out. |

No way was she pretending.
At the end when they burn those others alive... damn. Best episode of the season, IMO. Except, this was me last week:

 Melissa McBride and Alicia Witt are both on Talking Dead tonight. |
Re: The Walking Dead (S6E13) -- "The Same Boat" -- 3/13/16
Even the most hardened soldiers can reach their breaking point. I know everything thinks they'd be a cold blooded killing machine in the zombie apocalypse but that's easy to say when you're sitting behind a keyboard.
We've seen Carol play meek before. But this was much more interesting, because you could tell was doing it because she knew it would work and she knew she'd have to kill all of those people. And despite her guilt, she STILL stepped up when she needed too and smoked everyone. She just seemed so sad about it. My god, she's not a fucking robot. There is a point where someone could realistically just be tired of killing, especially in a world with so few people. There is so much complaining about the writing and characters on this show (that everyone still watches religiously) and when they actually do step up and do something interesting, that's criticized too. I do not get it. |

Alicia Wiit was lookin' damn fine on Talking Dead.
One bit of tonight's Walking Dead episode caught my eye... (Spoilered sections involve speculation based on leaked finale footage and info from the comics.) Spoiler:

Nope, definitely feeling guilty, and pretending at the same time. Old carol would have smoked that chick without a word when she finally had the gun on her, not that BS of telling her to just run away. Maggie was the one who went full redrum this time.

Re: The Walking Dead (S6E13) -- "The Same Boat" -- 3/13/16
Oh well, I guess three straight great episodes of The Walking Dead was asking for too much. First, it was plainly obvious that Carol and Maggie were going to save themselves within about ten minutes of the episode starting. This was their "hero" moment the show feels it needs to repeat every so often.
I like Alicia Witt (she's one of my favorites in the Hallmark telemovies) but I've seen her in too many other roles for her character to have been completely effective. The stuff with Carol at the end was out of character. I also wondered why Carol willingly volunteered to them that Maggie was pregnant, which gave them even more leverage in the negotiations. Things only worked out because the writers made it work out. |

Are you guys complaining because it's the "cool thing to do" these days?
Come on... it was a good/great episode. Lots to think about. |

It was a good episode.
Agree with Mikah about Carol. And also wonder about Negan. I mean, I know that there's one person. But, rhetorical question, i want to know why they say everyone is Negan. |
