re: "Making a Murderer" -- Netflix documentary series
Why was Teresa's blood in the back of the SUV?
If she was killed in Avery's garage and/or bedroom and burned outside what was she doing bleeding in the back of Toyota? |
re: "Making a Murderer" -- Netflix documentary series
Brendan said (in at least one version of his story) he (Steven) put her in the SUV because he was going to crush it with her in it. Then he decided to burn her, instead, so he took her out.

Naturally that begs the question why the vehicle wasn't crushed, instead of being poorly hidden behind some branches ON THE AVERY PROPERTY. |

Only 2 episode remaining.

You're right, I did once make that thread post that took ten hours to read. :eyeroll:

Even the DNA on the hood of the car could have been planted. But this piece of evidence is hard for me to wrap my head around. The bullet wasn't found during the 8 day search. It was officially found in March, immediately after the Dassey confession (which I don't believe was nearly as coerced as the documentary leads you to believe). I also know Dassey kind of fell into the cops lap. [B I also don't know how they could have gotten Halbach's blood on the bullet if her body was burned.[/B] To me, there is way too much coincidence around this particular piece of evidence for me to believe that it was planted.
I think the other, far more dubious evidence coupled with the Manitowic police's unnecessary involvement leads me to a place of reasonable doubt. But it's this particular piece of evidence that makes me believe that he indeed did it. The other contention with the gun is "where would the cops have gotten the bullet from?" The gun was seized on November 5, 2005 but the bullet wasn't "found" until March 2006. That's 4 months the cops had the rifle. Even though they could have, I don't think they fired it. I think the bullet was simply found on the Avery property during one of the many searches. Who knows what drunken rednecks shoot at for entertainment. |

But I do agree. That's why it was so hard for me to really enjoy it since the filler/padding in all this series was just too drawn out. I like that Documentary Now did an episode based on A Thin Blue Line in a little under 22 minutes and grabbed the same level of story telling. |

Netflix and chill doesn't work very well if you're only going to make the excuse to go over for one 90 minute Making a Murder movie vs. having an entire 10 episode stretched out series that is the talk of the town.

If anyone is interested, a guy on Reddit has been working on a diagram of the Avery lands to give a better view of where everything is alleged to have taken place.
Spoilered for size. Spoiler:
And larger area, spoilered for hugeness. Spoiler:

It's interesting. In the documentary, she essentially vanishes with very little explanation. I think they showed a few hand-written notes, but little time was spent on this topic. I was curious why they didn't delve on this more or at least include her for later interviews.

https://www.yahoo.com/tv/steven-aver...043213360.html OTOH, Avery has never waived once on maintaining his innocence. Then again, he could by lying thinking he beat the system once, he could do it again. |

I'm leaning more towards him being guilty especially after this revelation. Avery may have been a good person, but 18 years in prison as an innocent institutionalized man could certainly mess up someone's sense of morality and fester hatred of women. He did reportedly tell an inmate that he dreamed of building a torture chamber.

Because unless the Avery's become the next Honey Boo-boo family, this is pretty much their peak. |

No, they enslave them, mutilate their genitals, and call them "pets." No, good people set dogs on fire. #amirightKVRDave

re: "Making a Murderer" -- Netflix documentary series
Some miscellaneous items I wondered about ...
Manitowoc County has a population of 81,442 per the 2010 census. I was under the impression this was a much smaller county. I work with a number of small (under 10,000) counties and was equating this to those. Manitowoc County Sheriff's Office has 21 full time patrol officers, approximately 4 part-time patrol officers, 6 patrol lieutenants, 3 senior patrol lieutenants, 4 detectives, 1 detective supervisor, and a number of other positions potentially directly involved in policing activity (i.e., removing numbers for jail operations, administration, and support roles). Again, this seemed like a much smaller department in the film. This makes the repeat involvement of certain officers even more suspect (in my opinion). Data is taken directly from the County Board's annual report/budget. http://www.co.manitowoc.wi.us/upload...%20Version.pdf |

I mean really what could he threaten her with? It didn't seem like she was staying on the Avery property right? And now that I'm typing this up, if what she's saying IS true, wouldn't it have been the perfect opportunity to speak up while the guy's under investigation for murder/sexual assault? Especially when it seemed like the Sheriff County's office was actively going after the guy anyway. Why not be the star witness in this whole thing? Kinda doesn't make sense speaking up now. Unless she's just after publicity? |
re: "Making a Murderer" -- Netflix documentary series
Yea she spoke up now because that dumb **** Nancy Grace talked her into it and told her what to say.
