Re: Royal Pains -- "Comfort's Overrated" -- 07/22/10
Seemed really weird to have both brothers move away from their typical female interests, particularly in the same episode.
I wonder if this could be substantial for Evan; I could see this leading to something while Divya figures out what she's doing.

Loved when Evan realized he was a dirty whore.
New female doctor was far less annoying here than she was in the other episodes.
The medical stories were both pretty good as well.

I guess Hank isn't a practicing Jew, since he seemed to really enjoy the lobster macaroni.
And what New Yorker eats pizza with a knife and fork?

I am switching my vote, from Divya's white pants to Jill, but only if she doesn't have her hair pulled back.

at the actress who played the stripper.
Great episode all around. I like that they're fleshing out the character of the competing doctor, and not just making her a bitch. at Evan thinking he killed Raj.
I always figured the writers would find some way to stop Divya from marrying Raj. Looks like I may have been wrong.

And lets hope the writers have her marry him. Better him than the tool that would be the predictable thing to do.
This was the best episode of this series to date by far.
Poor Bill Bellamy. The best he can do nowadays is a guest gig on Royal Pains? Ouch. Reminds me of how I miss Fastlane.

I get the feeling the writers aren't even sure what they want to do with Divya. There's been a couple of hints that she's supposed to end up with Evan (a surprise kiss in the first season and Divya's mother's psychic saying that Divya will find love through another), but it's been so low-key that I can't quite tell if they want to pursue this storyline.

Who marry who? Divya marry Raj? Raj marry Karma?

At one time, I hoped that happened too. Not that I still don't want it to happen either, but I see the benefit of her marrying Raj and Evan moving on to someone, only to have them find each other down the road. I just don't want to see something forced too quickly.
Oh, and because I was going to ask before I found them, here's a memory from this show:

Based on this episode, I think in order of acting chops/skills it is :
Divya's white pants
Jill
the chick who plays Peck
Evan's low level muttonchops.
any kids/teens/superfluous family members
the guy who wore a baseball cap in the Sopranos episode "Whitecaps"

Divya's white capris should be up for an Emmy. I'm outraged they're not, and am seriously considering an angry email to the Academy. Or Association or whatever the hell those Emmy dudes call themselves.

Wow! Divya rocked the skirts tonight!
The story about guests at the wedding was seen a mile away, but not bad. I thought the whole Divya storyline (about the hospital stay) was interesting in terms of her story development. I hope next week's preview signals the imminent demise of Hank's most recent bad choice.

I'm really sick of that new doctor. She's ruining this show for me. Even when she's being nice (which is rare), she looks mean and vindictive. She was decent in Damages, but Royal Pains is too light of a show for someone like her.
Did anyone else notice that the wife in this episode was the sister from Home Alone? "Kevin, you're what the French call les incompetents"
