From that short clip Rodgers definitely feels like a fill in host and not a permanent one. Maybe he’ll get better over time though.

Ooh. I can't help but think this would be a home run.

The new permanent host will either be Female or a PoC. Or both.

4th and goal during the NFC Championship (winner goes to the Super Bowl) with like 2 min left. They kicked a field goal and gave the ball back to Tom Brady with a couple minutes left to march down the field and win the game. Rather than going for the touchdown which would have basically sealed the win for them.

I've been on the let Levar host the show train since day 1. He's the obvious choice even before considering that he actually wants to do it.

Touchdown would not have sealed the win. They were down 8. Touchdown plus a successful two point conversion would have tied it.

Brady didn't have to march down the field and score to win the game, he just had to run out the clock. Green Bay's coach was counting on their defense to get a stop and get them the chance to take the lead. They didn't.

If they had been successful with both the touchdown and the two point conversion, Brady still would have had 2 minutes to march them down the field just far enough to kick a field goal and win the game, and if he didn't, there would have been overtime.

Rodgers has been vocally upset that they kicked the field goal instead of giving him the chance to tie it.

They were down 8? Hmm...guess I'm remember it incorrectly. Thx for updating.

Rodgers has gotten better as host, but he's so monotone and beyond dry. I haven't enjoyed his stint all that much.

Rodgers is ok during the game play (Ken started off rough too and he has way more game show experience, he's on something on gameshow network plus all his time as a jeopardy player) but during the player interviews his reply when they're done with their story comes off like "ok whatever I don't care"

Poor Aaron Rogers was terrified during his first episode. His palms were sweating. He was actually fiddling with his wedding ring during the closing shot.

He's not generating the energy needed to carry a game show. He's the worst of the hosts so far.

I liked Mike Richards. He’s the EP of Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. He probably won’t get the job, but I would be happy if he did.

Sums up most viewers too. rotfl I always jump through that segment (except when Holzhauer was destroying everyone).

Thats funny. I always felt Trebek was like that.
finishing up the interview with phrases like “that’s terrific” or “good for you” or “great job” and it always felt sarcastic to me.

Yeah, I always skip those segments, too. They're usually dull and awkward.

I often wonder if, when they have guys like James H. or Ken J. on that have long runs, if the writers have to come up with personal anecdotes for them to tell.

For me, I can barely come up with one that would be appropriate for afternoon tv.

"Nick, I understand that you spend a lot of time on the internet."
"That's right, Aaron. One of my favorite sites is about DVDs."
"That's fantastic."

I actually really like Rodgers. He gets a little better each episode. I am not sure they should permanently replace Trebek at all

The hosts for the next two weeks will be Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B.

Jeopardy with Alex was comfort food, sad to say but after a while, with a new host, Alex will slowly be somewhat forgotten and the new host will just become part of our lives and become the new comfort food. One of the reasons that Friends, Seinfeld and even the Big Bang Theory is watched over and over again, comfort. Jeopardy is structured in a way we like, as long as they don't change the game, it will survive.

I chuckled, but then I did a quick search just the same because...well, who the hell knows any more.

He got better, but I still don't like him. He still hasn't fixed his tendency to trail off at the end of sentences.

Good stage presence. They have the vocal skills to read the clues quickly and clearly, and make them sound exciting. They make the dangly thing at the back of her mouth sound exciting.

I thought Doctor Oz was the worst so far. If you close your eyes and just listen to the episodes he's hosted, you would think it was Kripke from The Big Bang Theory was hosting the show.

I agree that Dr. Oz has ended up being the worst so far. Rodgers has improved, but I'm still not a big fan. I've been surprised to read a number of articles raving about him and saying he should get the gig full time.

There were times when Trebek was so openly a dick about it, especially when he'd give them that look and do his riiiiight.

I agree that Oz was the worst. He was phoning it in.
