I hope this was a good one tonight. Got it on the DVR.

Last time Louie hosted he did 7 mins of new standup at the beginning. Did he (hopefully) do that tonight?

Best cold open I can recall from this year.

Louie's stand-up was hilarious.

Vanessa Bayer begging to be punished and spanked was great.

Be interesting to see what if any consequences the recent allegations have on his career.

Didn't know he was hosting. He's great on there. Like Alec Baldwin.

SNL has a very normal audience. People like that will never be able to understand his humor. Last time they were unhappy with his "God's dead wife under the porch" joke.

I watched the monologue online and I found it funny.

However, Louis has to realize an SNL monologue isn't the best place for that type of humour.
I suspect he knew it was going to cause an uproar in the hopes of increasing his popularity. It can't be a coincidence that he tackled 3 delicate subjects... Isreal/Palestine, racism and child molestation.

The jokes were funny, but I thought he was an idiot choosing to do these topics on network TV. You can tell he was about to lose the audiences on benign racism. He really lost the audiences with child molestation. You know when you're in trouble when you had to qualify your own joke and follow by explanation.

From what I've heard it sounds like these allegations are baseless. The guy who supposedly emailed him about the incidents is some unknown and it wasn't even confirmed that he actually emailed Louis. Plus another source reached out to the person who was supposedly a victim and they were unwilling to confirm any details of the incident. So basically there's a bunch of unknowns at this point who are just pointing fingers. Not to say they couldn't be true but I think if they were we'd have more than a case of he said she said by a bunch of unknowns and the victim(s) would have come forward by now.

Yeah, he definitely acted like he knew he was in trouble toward the end of his set.

I thought this was a pretty good episode.

The monologue was great and Tom Brady on Weekend Update. I think this was the best WU of the season.

"Lets have a great interview"

The last couple of SNL shows were a lot better compared to the beginning of the season.

At the Aspen Comedy Festival a few years ago, he invited a female comedy duo back to his hotel room. The two ladies gladly joined him, and offered him some weed. He turned it down, but asked if it would be OK if he took his dick out.

Thinking he was joking (that’s exactly the kind of thing this guy would say), the women gave a facetious thumbs up. He wasn’t joking. When he actually started jerking off in front of them, the ladies decided that wasn’t their bag and made for the exit. But the comedian stood in front of the door, blocking their way with his body, until he was done.
Garfunkel and Oates?

I could see this playing out on their show.

Re: SNL (s40e21) -- 05/14/15 -- H: Louis C.K. -- MG: Rihanna (Season Finale)

I just watched the monologue now to see what the fuss was about. Honestly I didn't find the racism or middle east jokes offensive at all and I didn't see a problem with doing them on SNL. I think the bit about child molestation at the end was probably too much though. He drug it out too long and it got awkward. I didn't really find it offensive but it wasn't the right place for that type of joke. I think he knew it wasn't the right joke for that audience and he even said "how do you think I feel its probably my last show?" when the reactions started to go again him a bit, but once he started it he chose to just go with it.

Also reading that Gawker article is ridiculous. Basically an anonymous source claims this might have happened but there's no real evidence or anyone wanting to come forward. Like I said before I obviously have no way of proving anything one way or another, but to me the "allegations" sound like bullshit.

Have you guys never seen Louis CK's comedy before? He gets those kind of audience gasps all the time. That's kind of his thing. He's one of the most profitable standups on the planet so I think it's working out just fine for him.

I guess that's why none of the material was shocking or offensive to me as I do watch his show and stand-up. I think the point others have made about some of the material not being right for SNL is true though (mainly the child molestation stuff).

I was even surprised at how far he went, and my sense of humor is far sicker

Re: SNL (s40e21) -- 05/14/15 -- H: Louis C.K. -- MG: Rihanna (Season Finale)

I thought it was pretty benign, he was talking about a guy trying to bang teenagers, not little kids. While I don't approve of a creepy old guy taking advantage of high school students, I don't find it as horrifying and sad as doing the same to helpless children.

Really dark is the bit Louis did on his TV show about raped/murdered kids and how maybe if we didn't send guys to prison for raping kids, they would let their victims go free. The way people were carrying on on Twitter, I assumed that was the routine he did on SNL until I saw the clip.

I'm a huge Louis CK fan, so I actually watched SNL for the first time in years (or atleast stayed up for the opening monologue), and it was classic Louis! But this is why standup comedians never resonate on shows like SNL, Academy Awards, Golden Globes, etc. Their edginess is not for everyone, so you get a backlash of people who just don't like their humor.

My mom called me on Sunday and was appalled at his monologue. And when you think about it, she is not the type of person who is going to see his standup at some club. That is why people like Billy Crystal and Tina Fey/Amy Poehler always do better at stuff like this because they are more safe to EVERYONE.

Nothing is off limits for a joke. Anyone who doesn't like it can go on with their worthless miserable pointless lives laughing at Carrot Top.

Louis CK is at the top of his game.
