The Honest Company diaper ad with All About That Bass.

It's basically child porn.

Re: Commercials you absolutely f&*$ing HATE

ALL of them. Especially Network promos that continually bombard you with the same show OVER and OVER again until you DON'T want to see it. I never watch anything live anymore, and usually wait 5 days after air so the on-demand shows don't show most of the commericals. I tried to watch Revenge last night and couldn't believe all the f'ckn commercials. When Jimmy Fallon was on late night, I noticed several times the commercial breaks would last almost 7 minutes. Ridiculous.

Like many, Progressive, for several reasons:
1) Flo is irritiating
2) they act like they are doing something special by bundling insurance when that's what all insurance companies do
and worst of all
3) trying to convince you it's a good thing to use their car tracking device (name?) that allows them to monitor your driving habits. It's none of their damn business. Too controlling.

I will say, I did like the superbowl commerical with Bryan Cranston. I loved seeing that "sorta" Breaking Bad character again.

On that note, there's the bizarre choice of "Low Rider" for that Crestor ad.

I hate the Farxiga diabetes drug commercial. Everyone on it is laughing the entire time (no matter what they are doing) and it has a droning soundtrack. They don't look happy, they look insane. I change the channel and, seriously, 3 or 4 commercials later I switch back and the Farxiga commercial is STILL on. It is beyond annoying.

I find all the drug commercials annoying on and quite frankly I am not sure they should be able to advertise prescription drugs on TV. Many of these drugs are in the very early phase and risks and side effects are not well known. Only a matter of time before one of these drugs has serious serious unexpected side effects (like Phen Phen) but because of the ads many many more people will be put at risk. Vigra and Cialis commercials have become very very questionable lately.

I thought it was funny seeing an ad for Xarelto, then on the same day an ad for a law firm representing people who had dangerous side effects from Xarelto.

Actually, they were already scheduled to be replaced by the "SI Swimsuit Model with the talking horse" ads.

Just saw the McDonalds commercial with the douchebag wearing the fanny pack. I think we can close the thread.

Any of those fucking State Farm commercials where the people have to "sing the jingle" to get help. The two dipshits who are being terrorized by a buffalo are the worst.

Surprised this thread doesn't have posts more often. Lots of crappy commercials out there.

I'm currently hating the Rally's commercial with the talking bag doing a bad Chris Rock impersonation. I have to wonder how that particular brain fart actually got made.

Those new Yoplait spots with the French woman are the worst. And who thought it was a good idea to resurrect Col. Sanders?

As long as the Trivago douchebag ad is running everything else pales in comparison.

I find it amazing that this many people still watch commercials. I doubt that I have seen an entire commercial in years.

Really? I think a lot of people watch tons of television in public locations where commercials aren't skipped. Work, waiting rooms, and restaurants/bars are about the only places where I watch TV.

A lot of people keep TV on as background noise too. About half the conversations with my dad start out "did you see that commercial where....." and the answer is always no, before I get it described to me in excruciating detail.

I only see commercials in snippets if I'm too slow on the skip or they sneak up on me. But I still see enough to know that for some reason Sonic's commercials are something about an ugly gay couple who eat every meal in their car together. And that car insurance is sold by Elephants, Geckos, and The Most Obnoxious Lady on Earth. And that prescription drug companies have way too much money because their commercials take 3 skips instead of 1 like everything else.

The "I'm in the Buick" with the girl who doesn't know what a Buick looks like, and Ford's "Everybody Talks" song commercials are run at least 500 times a day. On every channel. At least that's what it seems like.

- public TV
- sports
- background noise
- news
- special events (Oscars, Grammys, CMAs, etc)
- at the movie theater
- streaming (Hulu, network channel streaming, etc)
- Late show/talk TV (Tonight Show, SNL, etc)
- YouTube (plus most other sites that force commercials prior to getting to an actual vid)

Given all the examples above and many more not listed I find it hard to believe someone could claim they HAVEN'T seen a commercial in years.

Companies have done a damn good job of forcing commercials on us despite the advent of DVRs.

Re: Commercials you absolutely f&*$ing HATE

I don't hate any commercials. It's because I mostly DVR and sometimes channel surf. I have so much incoming DVR, I don't really watch commercials anymore. Even when I'm excited to watch something (like tonight's The Strain or True Detective), I'll just watch it tomorrow.

But I know what you guys are talking about. Pre-2006-or-so (when Tivo fizzled and every cable company started offering DVR), I'd get so sick and tired of commercials. In fact, I'd rather pay extra to watch TV without commercials (and have the extra money go straight to the networks to fund the shows I watch). I'm sick of being told to go to Taco Bell. Seriously. Fuck off and let me watch my damn shows.

Re: Commercials you absolutely f&*$ing HATE

You can't even surf any more without seeing commercials, it is not only TV.

I am getting really concerned about medicine commercials. I guess the disclaimer is that the doctor is the buffer but we know they get spiffs as well. Some of the side effects for drugs that treat some pretty minor things are really scary. Not trying to be melodramatic but I think they are out of control.
