Just a guess, but could be to throw people off the scent of Wells being Reverse Flash from the start. Since Eobard is a descendant of Eddie and Wells looks nothing like Eddie. Now that they've shown Eobard's original face, Eobard and Eddie look fairly similar compared to Eddie and Wells.

I think it simply establishes that Wells wasn't always a bad guy/ambiguously motivated guy. Plus it introduces us to a technology that I'm sure will come up again (even if Fringe already did the face-swapping-with-wires tech years ago).

I'm sure it will become important that the guy people actually knew as Wells is long dead, and not the actual bad guy that is currently using his image.

So maybe not a true "twist", but certainly not what we were told in every episode before where they were clearly making the actual Wells to have went bad, or was bad from the start.

But it's NOT really wells, so why should we care?

That character has always been the same person to us, they just changed his name and origin, essentially.

I'm fine with it (because it does certainly explain the blood thing, which will always cast doubt in Barry/Joe's mind that Wells was there in the house that night), just thought it was funny how it's supposed to be some big twist, but in reality... it's just not.

I don't know that they'll go there, but it would be cool if Barry went back to stop original Wells from dying. You'd then have him and his fiance added to the show (I liked her!). He'd be resetting an original timeline.

I don't know if it's a comic thing, although the show must-have touched upon it, are you stuck in the past or can you go so fast you travel to the future?

And, yes, unless Thawne found and somehow killed him, there should be an older Barry Allen somewhere running around.

Hey, episode 18, is directed by Kevin Tancharoen. I hope he gives the episode the same type of flare he showed in season 1 of Mortal Kombat: Legacy.

It's the same on Hulu, several or maybe all CW shows are supposed to have the last five episodes but, they've skipped over a couple episodes in the middle.

I asked that same question last week, never got a response. It really feels like a glaring plot hole that needs an explanation.

I presume he didn't because the future headline in Wells' secret room says the Flash is missing.

when Mom was killed.

That is an unrelated event in Flash's history from what we have seen on this show. I don't think we'll see that future newspaper's headlines play out until season 7. It's a type of story best saved for the Flash's final season.

This show is still doing gangbusters in the ratings, for the CW anyway. It is their highest rated show by far and nearly getting the same rating as ABC's Agents of SHIELD, which is a huge win for a CW series.

I actually had meant the other Barry from the 1 day time jump. I wasn't even thinking about the Barry (or other Flash) that was there when Barry's mom was killed.

On that point, his dad seems to know something, because he keeps telling Barry to not look into her murder.

That's because the dad is Barry Allen, Sr. He just started calling himself Henry and named his son Barry. As fate would have it, the fight that would eventually propel him to the past (farther back than when RF was stranded) actually happened near the house he and Nora moved into. And RF set events into motion that would make Barry, Jr. into the Flash.

No no no. The big twist will be Henry DID kill Barry's mom after the Flash/Reverse Flash fight in the house. Once the fight was over and Young Barry was ejected from the house, Henry took the opportunity to take his wife out hoping he could use the mysterious lights as his alibi. Once Barry discovers this, Henry will escape prison and become his worse enemy.

And... Henry is none other than this universe's version of Black Flash.

I hope we get the Black Flash at some point.

I always thought he should've been called "Flash, Black" instead.
