Was never a fan of Jon or the show (not that i hated him or anything, just only caught the show once in a while and never felt like watching more), but after reading this ....

I'm forever a HUGE fan of Jon's. Very very very cool.

Comedy Central scheduled it for 10:00-10:52 so I think everyone who just set it to record had their recording end there. Jon talked some more and then Springsteen closed the show.

Colbert's bit was really great and nice to see so many previous correspondents.

It's sad the show as it was won't be on anymore, but I'm glad that Stewart is moving on to other things he wants to do.

I'm still not sure on Trevor Noah and don't know if I'll watch at the start. Maybe if word of mouth is good I'll tune in.

Colbert, Letterman and now Stewart. Tough year. But man was i entertained for these 10 plus years by these guys. I think I am OK to close the book on The Daily Show, see what Colbert does on the Late Show and continue to enjoy the Brit on HBO.

From what I've gathered, seems like Noah's going to concentrate more on social media and internet as opposed to how Steward focused on cable news, making fun of the the 24-hour news cycle, Noah's schtick will be to make fun of the instant-news cycle. Which means that his stuff should be far more online-focused and watchable that way, rather than the traditional watching TV before you go to sleep. He's definitely going to skew younger - like the age I was when Stewart first took over.

Nice celebratory finale. Good too see the oldies cycle through. I always thought DeGeneres's faux-serious-newsman countenance was hilarious.
I also enjoyed the politician cameos. What did McCain say? "Suck it, Stewart"?

You forgot Craig Ferguson. (Mid-December but within the last 12 months)

Of course you are...worst case scenario, Colbert sucks as the Late Show Host and Oliver is not satisfying only one night a week, but you still get to live in Switzerland. The rest of us are not so lucky.
