The Red Hood was an interesting concept in The Killing Joke. That was one where it was two gangsters who always found some patsy to wear the helmet during the crime. One in particular was the guy who became Joker. I would really like it if they took that approach in the series, leading the avid comic readers to wonder just which one will become Joker. I truly feel that the revelation of Joker is more of a series finale type deal. Hearing his crazy laugh before they cut to black would be great.

That is how I expect Gotham to use the Red Hood. We'll get a number of people in the Red Hood role, one of which may be the Joker.

People need to start SPOILERIZING comic book discussions in the show thread. It is really really annoying.

It does become a problem as shows lift more and more stories from the comic books. Though this show is set in such a different timeline than the comics have ever really explored, the comic book spoilers don't mean nearly as much.

I would definitely avoid comic spoilers for the Flash, that show is heavily based on actual stories ripped directly from the comics.

Villain casting news:

Colm Feore ("Chicago," "Thor") has scored the role of Batman villain The Dollmaker in FOX's prequel series "Gotham".

In this take, Feore's villain is named Dr. Francis Dulmacher, a man with a “zealotry bordering on madness, and aided by his genius-level intellect and vast medical expertise." Hints about The Dollmaker have already been placed in the series.

In the comics, he first appeared in 2011 where he cut off The Joker’s face and saw his father killed at the hand of James Gordon as a young child. He also wears his dad’s skin as a mask.

This would also seemingly put to bed talk of a shared "Arrow"/"Gotham" universe as Michael Eklund has already portrayed The Dollmaker on "Arrow".

Odd that they would list "Chicago," rather than something like "Game of Thrones."

Yes. I mentioned in one of the previous threads that I hope they're going that direction with her character, because anything else will be a disappointment given how unlikable they've portrayed her.

Agreed and I may be in the minority, but I'm interested to see where it goes.

Except Feore hasn't been on "Game of Thrones".

Shit, he's not Stannis Baratheon? Another site reporting this news said he was. They could be twins.

No, the guy playing Stannis in GoT played Thomas Jefferson in the John Adams miniseries.
