Re: Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas

Yes, that's right I do remember that and I bought two titles. Actually just watched one of them two nights ago for the first time. It was cute for $1. It was called Last Chance for Christmas with Gabriel Hogan, who is in a few Hallmark titles. Just realized that Hilarie Burton who was also in Last Chance for Christmas starred in Summer Villa which gets released next week on Tuesday. Wonder if Summer Villa will also be $.99 cents. If it is, will pick that one up too.

Re: Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas

Any guesses as to how long this sale will go on and how many more Hallmark titles will get a $.99 cent price tag?

Last year Amazon had a bunch of Hallmark Channel movies on sale for $2.99 - $4.99. I grabbed about two dozen movies back then. But this is the first time I've seen them so low.

Vudu has a Hallmark sale about 2-3 times a year. There's almost always one in December, with Christmas movies around $4.99 - $5.99.

I must have missed that. Thanks for mentioning it tho. Yes, got some Holiday movies on sale on Vudu last Christmas. Looking forward to seeing what they will offer this year.

I know that many of the Signed Sealed Delivered movies were on sale for Prime Day about a month ago but I also missed that. I love, love SSD. Hoping for releases of the last four Signed Sealed Delivered movies.

Operation Christmas is available SD for $.99 cents..not HD. HD price is $12.99. To get to the $.99 cent price you have to click more purchase options.

Wonder if that's new test wise.

Cinedigm Renews Hallmark Deal

Perrault notes that Hallmark is also shaping up to have a strong back half of the year, with 25 releases scheduled in the fourth quarter alone for disc and digital.

Nineteen of them are Christmas titles.

More clips from the article:

https://www.mediaplaynews.com/cinedi...gital-success/

Digital movie sales (electronic sellthrough, or EST) rose 20% in 2017 over 2016, says Bill Perrault, SVP of marketing and brand management, while DVD and Blu-ray Disc revenues were up 22% – this, at a time when industry disc sales were down 14%.

Net revenue, Perrault says, was up 46%.

At Walmart, the biggest of the more than 60,000 physical and digital retailers that carry Cinedigm product, sales of Hallmark product in the first six months of this year spiked 324% in gross revenue dollars compared to the first half 2017, Perrault said. Unit sales are up 315%.

Increased revenue is attributed to new release success from the Royal Wedding Collection, a collection of three films, two of which star Meghan Markle, and Campfire Kiss, starring Danica McKellar, along with seasonal placement of The Country Love Triple Feature for Mother’s Day.

Digital wholesale revenue is up 15% for the first six months of 2018 from the same period last year, largely due to the EST success of “When Calls the Heart” and “Chesapeake Shores,” two Canadian-American drama TV series show on the Hallmark Channel.

...

This year Cinedigm will distribute two Hallmark Original Movies on DVD, exclusively at Walmart, and widely on EST three days after Crown’s 2018 Countdown to Christmas Television Premiere on the Hallmark Channel, which starts Oct. 27.

The first is Christmas At Graceland, starring Country Music Award winner Kellie Pickler. The second film is It’s Christmas, Eve, starring Grammy Award-winner LeAnn Rimes.

Much like Hallmark Channel programming, Christmas has always been the strongest time of the year for Hallmark disc and digital sales. But over the last two years, Perrault points out, “we’ve seen it grow into a strong every-day business.”

I didn't pull the trigger on that one while it was live because I've seen it twice and might even still have it on my DVR. Not my favorite, but I have a soft spot for the "returning veterans" stories. Hallmark sure loves them!

I want a DVD or digital release of "On the Twelfth Day of Christmas" this year. I watched it last year when it was recommended in this thread. I can only watch it on a poor quality version on youtube.

I thought Operation Christmas was better than the latest one with Julie Benz called Christmas Homecoming. I couldn't stay with that one.

My favorite is A Christmas Visitor (2002) with William Devane and Meredith Baxter. That one always turns me into a blubbering mess.

Back then, Hallmark made some really classic movies. I wish they'd go back to the days of quality over quantity.

I may have seen this one ages ago. Only a few more posts and I can finally include links. Even have to remove them in posts until I hit 30 posts.

I kinda remember that one. Pretty decent, but not one I kept on my DVR.

On another note, The Christmas Card is $2.99 on iTunes if anyone is interested. It's a favorite of many.

Great price for HD, though it's not Movies Anywhere so I wouldn't be able to watch it on my TV. I checked to see if I have it on Vudu, and it doesn't seem to be available there or on Amazon. I wonder if Apple got some kind of exclusive.

It's also on Google Play but for a higher price. I bought it on iTunes for the excellent price.

Yeah, it'd be nice to have combined libraries. I ended up buying Ice Sculpture Christmas on Amazon when I already had it on Vudu, but at least it was only 99 cents.

I did the same for a few titles since they were only a $1 each. I am sure rethinking how much I am going to spend per title when I got so lucky to pick up so many titles for $1. One title I had on a wishlist for a year and it was $10. Picked up the title on Amazon for $1.99.

Of the $.99 cent titles off the top of my head that I enjoyed watching I was real pleased with Firelight, Norman Rockwells Shuffletons Barbershop and All's Fair in Love and Advertising. Haven't had time to watch much else. I hadn't seen any of these titles previously. Hoping for more bargain priced titles in the future. Spent more than I should have but got a lot for the money spent.

Re: Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas

What websites are you visiting to look for deals? I check Slickdeals, www.blu-ray.com, their digital deals forum, and here, of course, and on the streaming thread. The only Hallmark title still at $.99 cents that I am seeing is
So She Said Yes So She Said Yes
.

I don't think that this title was especailly good from the bits I've seen of it but wanted to be able to view a legal copy without commercials so I bought it.

Same goes for Irresistible Bluberry Farm.

Re: Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas

I'm lazy so I just check the deals that are mentioned here.

I bought So She Said Yes because I liked Kellie Martin in her ER days, and because it was 99 cents, but I don't have great hopes for it. That's probably true for most of these cheap titles as I've seen very few of them.

Congrats on your new linking power!

Re: Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas

Signed Sealed Delivered: Higher Ground will be released on DVD on 12/11. Very excited about this as SSD is my favorite movie series on HM&M. Christianbook.com has a pre-order listing but I'll wait til I can get it on Vudu or Amazon. If you have not watched this series or the follow-up movies, give them a watch. They are so well written and the cast is fabulous.
