CROSSOVER EVENT
THE FLASH "Flash vs. Arrow" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-PG, V) (HDTV)
PART ONE OF THE EPIC CROSSOVER EVENT WITH THE FLASH AND ARROW - Barry (Grant Gustin) is thrilled when Oliver (guest star Stephen Amell), Felicity (guest star Emily Bett Rickards) and Diggle (guest star David Ramsey) come to Central City to investigate a case involving a deadly boomerang. Excited about teaming up with his friend, Barry asks Oliver if he'd like to help him stop Ray Bivolo (guest star Paul Anthony), the meta-human Barry is currently tracking. Bivolo causes people to lose control of their emotions and has been using that skill to rob banks. Unfortunately, the superhero partnership doesn't go as smoothly as Barry expected. When Oliver tells Barry he still has a lot to learn, Barry sets out to prove him wrong by attempting to stop Bivolo alone. However, when Bivolo infects Barry and sets him on a rage rampage, everyone is in danger, and the only one who can stop him is the Arrow. Meanwhile, Iris (Candice Patton) is furious when Eddie (Rick Cosnett) tries to get a task force to stop The Flash, Joe and Dr. Wells (Tom Cavanagh) agree the Arrow is a bad influence on Barry, and Caitlin and Cisco deal with a new team in S.T.A.R. Labs. Glen Winter directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Ben Sokolowski & Brooke Eikmeier (#108). Original airdate 12/2/2014.

Continues tomorrow night on Arrow. If for some reason you don't watch Arrow, you will need to watch it tomorrow.

Really fun episode. It was hard for my inner twelve year old not to have a big goofy grin the entire episode. Also gave us some interesting things moving forward like the Flash task force, and Firestorm appearing.

Cool ep. I hated that they teased us with the Batman reference. Can't wait until they do a Firestorm story.

Loved it.
Arrow: Stop giving your enemies nicknames
Flash: Maybe we can talk about Deathstroke and The Huntress over coffee.
All types of fun in this episode and Iris continues to grow on me. Oliver is going to be paying child support soon.
One odd thing is this didn't seem like a two parter. Felt more like a special guest episode. They didn't give a reason for Barry to leave unless that fire guy is in Star City.

A pretty good crossover, though I would have preferred more of a true team-up between the Flash and Green Arrow. We practically got more of the support teams interacting. I did like that shot of Diggle and Cisco standing together, comparing their statures. I thought Cisco was going to be an annoying character but his enthusiasm helps the show's energy.
So when are we going to get Rainbow Raider's groovy actual costume? I have a feeling it gets redesigned for television.

Yeah, nerdgasm episode for sure.
I noticed the small sign outside the place they trained denoted it as Tyler Chemicals building (Rex Tyler's company, aka the golden aged Hourman).

I always thought Hourman should have been a bigger deal in the comics, but I got the impression that DC was afraid of pushing a superhero to kids that got his powers from a drug, Miraclo.
I think it is a concept ripe with storytelling potential.

Yeah, a cautionary tale about a hero addicted to the drug and crime fighting. I'd watch that.

Pretty fun crossover that didn't feel forced.
I enjoyed the interactions between Barry and Ollie. That fight scene between them was pretty awesome.
I'm assuming that was supposed to be Robbie Amell at the end right?
I must have missed or forgotten something, but what was the significance of that woman at the end that Ollie spoke to? I don't recall seeing her before unless my memory is foggy.

Yep, fun episode. Only issue was at the end when he tells her that a meta human messed with his head and she did not really seem to hear it.

Side note, the Rainbow Raider's power are the light spectrum and Red light induced rage.... which is a huge part of the emotional spectrum of Geoff Johns' Green Lantern's run.

"You guys remember Felicity."
"I'll always remember this."
"That's my bad. That's on me."
Cisco is turning out to be one of the better characters of the show.
Bane is basically a drug user to get his powers. Granted he's not a superhero, but it's not like it is a topic they haven't covered before. From a DC wiki about Venom:
The fight scene toward the end was pretty badass.
Was it me, or did they not even explain how they caught the Rainbow Raider? The last scene of the fight with Barry and Ollie was them fixing Barry and when they came back, they put the Rainbow Raider in prison.

Venom is a highly addictive super-steroid. It was originally based on the Hourman’s Miraclo formula although it does not have the same 60 minute limitation as Miraclo. The drug, usually injected in a constant supply into the base of the neck would instantly transform someone into a hulking mass of unbridled physical strength. Bane's apparatus included a special "boost" button to give him a jolt of Venom when needed.
However, as the drug wore off or when the user was cut off from its constant supply, their body would rapidly return to its original state or sometimes even weaker, at which point the user would suffer from massive, debilitating withdrawal, usually accompanied by terrifying hallucinations.

Barry put a pillow case over his head at super speed and rendered him powerless

I think the joke there is that Rainbow Raider was so easy to catch for the both of them when they put their effort together, that it wasn't even worth showing.

One thing they need to lay off is Ollie's Dark Knight voice in costume. It's a riff on Bale's Batman voice, but it felt ridiculous when he was using it in battle against Barry.
Wells did prove it isn't tough figuring out that Queen is the Green Arrow. I think that is eventually going to cost someone close to him.

He probably just watched Felicity to see who she would contact. When she met Oliver at the coffee shop he guessed Oliver was Green Arrow. He couldn't know for sure, so his confident announcement was really a successful bluff.
