Huh. That looks pretty cool to me - I have no real affection for the Titans characters so they look fine. It’ll be interesting to see if this subscription service is worth it.

I love the New Teen Titans, and that looks cool to me. Still not sold on Starfire's look, though it looks much much better than that still shot. Raven's age in comparison to the rest of the characters didn't seem to be as much of a problem as I originally thought it would be.
I do think they kind of missed an opportunity here, with the popularity of WW, to put in a Wonder Girl (either one), though I guess even the comics have a hard time justifying their existence in relation to Wonder Woman.
edited to add:
seems like pricing for the digital service this is going to be on came out:

Coinciding with the launch of the DC Universe Experience, a pop-up attraction at the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter, DC and Warner Bros. announced that pre-orders for DC Universe have opened at DCUniverse.com for an annual fee of $74.99 (plus tax, in applicable areas), with a monthly subscription of $7.99 also available at launch. All fans who pre-order before launch will receive an additional three months at no cost.

Okay as someone who was excited for this my excitement just dropped a bunch. I realize these are teenagers but it totally looks like an angsty teen show with how the characters are acting and that crappy music. Robin looks great (as do the other heroes), but “fuck Batman”? Really? Also as Adam mentioned straight up murdering thugs in an alley with a gun? Wow. I guess DC has to carry on the tradition of their films by trying hard to be edgy.

yeah, this almost looks edgy just to be that, distancing it from other superhero shows. not sure about this.

Trying too hard to shed the light-hearted comedy of the cartoon series? I don't remember Dick being that brutal, until having to face Slade. I wonder how they will fit Trigon into Raven's storyline. And Starfire.. meh. Hawk and Dove tho look great in action.

The 50 years of “real” Teen Titans comics and cartoons are still there for me to enjoy whenever I want. I’m hopeful to enjoy this as an Elseworlds Titans.

It pisses me off. The people in charge of DC are so damn stupid. Your film division hasn’t been seeing success by being edgy so what do you do? Turn around and make something else that’s edgy, because departures from the characters from the comics is what your fans want (who is who you should be selling this DC Universe service to, not a mature rated CW crowd). They make it so damn hard to be a fan when they’re constantly making bone-headed moves like this.

Only the internet where folks get mad about an R rated DC show.
$7.99 per month isn’t bad, but I’d like to see what else they’re carrying at launch. Granted $74.99 for 15 months seems decent, but that’s a big commitment up front.

I love people who try and defend it. I mean it’s worked well so far right? Again you’re selling this service largely to fans in particular and are making it a radical departure from the source material. Fans who are expected to pay for this should just eat it up blindly, because fanboy-ism? This is why DC is failing. Instead of listening they keep it up with more stupid shit. Oh, but it’s mature rated so that means it’s for us serious adults.

Not my Titans.
I don't care if it's R rated or "edgy", I only care if it's good. I don't put a lot of faith in trailers, hopefully the series will be decent. Not sure I like the ultra-violent Robin tho.
It's amazing- almost all of the DC series have Batman, without Batman. It shows you how central Batman is to the DCU. There have even been Batman references on Supergirl.

I was hoping the trailer was intentionally misdirecting us and that Robin doesn't really kill anyone; it looks like he uses the thugs gun to make them duck. But that neckstomp... well...
It makes sense if he's estranged from Batman when he forms the Titans, especially if Batman isn't going to be in this.

Re: Titans -- coming to DC Universe
Many Batman family heroes have had "Fuck Batman" periods in their live/careers. I've seen it in comics, animated features, and cartoons. So to me it's not that big a deal. Batman is an asshole...has been for years...he brings that "Fuck Batman" attitude out of many fellow heroes.
Anyway, enjoyed the trailer. Not paying for DC streaming so I won't being seeing it anytime soon so I wish the series all the best.

I haven’t watched it but as a Star Trek fan myself I haven’t heard shining endorsements about it. I’m sorry but DC’s answer to mature tends to not work out well and often comes at the expense of breaking how we expect established characters to act. They have good characters but think they need to darken them up to be more adult and yet their films have been met with mixed reactions at best.

Re: Titans -- coming to DC Universe
Geoff Johns has already said this Titans show is going for DC's most mature live-action content yet. It wouldn't surprise me if graphic language and nudity are involved. This is about selling the streaming service to adult customers.
I think the kids that grew up with the Titans cartoons will be shocked by the direction they take this program.
$75 a year isn't a bad price, I feared they would start out around $100. The question is what type of content they get in the coming months.

I won't be paying $7.99 a month to watch that. Starfire looks terrible. They took one of the best looking characters in the DC Universe and ruined her... I also don't like that they have Robin running around and killing people.

So there are multiple options on this service if this doesn’t look appealing to you.

Looked good to me. As a big Robin fan I'll be watching for him. It's been 21 years since we've seen a live action Robin.
I know this dark turn is freaking people out, but that's the beauty of story telling. You can have Titans, Young Justice and Teen Titans Go at the same time. Something for every one.

You do realize this isn’t the only show they are showing. They are rolling out several original shows over the next year. Plus, the service is carrying other DC TV shows including the classic ones and animated, animated movies, live action movies and digital comics.
So there are multiple options on this service if this doesn’t look appealing to you.
