guys, just popping in to say that after dropping this and not watching several episodes... the air smells fresher, the day is brighter. Food taste more delicious.

There's a life after The Dome. We can walk away.

I'm free. FREE AT LAST.

Barbie didn't want his father (or the military, if they intercepted the email) to know how he got out of the dome - hence the cryptic message.

I am detecting some Dome fatigue on this forum, I can't believe it's been nearly 24 hours since broadcast and no one has made a comment about another scintillating installment of everyone's favorite Dome-related show. This is must-see, appointment television every week. Cancel your vacation plans if necessary.
No need to cancel plans ... I watch it at my leisure on Amazon, which means I am usually a week behind. I'm assuming Hounds of Diana is something from the newest episode ...

Edited to add: ... and now that I have finished last week's episode, suddenly Under the Dome has become a Dark Tower tale ...

Re: Stephen King's Under the Dome - Season 2 Discussion - CBS

Posted by: Rusty Denton, Chester’s Mill firefighter
Relationship: Engaged to Sheriff Linda Esquivel
Photos: obtained by the Hounds on the Wall

There are so many reasons why I proposed to my fiancé Linda. First and foremost she's a compassionate woman, dedicated to her friends, our relationship, and the public she serves and protects. And she's incredibly gorgeous. I’m the luckiest guy in the world to have found her.

The day the Dome fell, our Fire Truck was called out to a parade in Westlake -- the next town over. I was going to bring Linda, but at the last minute she decided to pick up a shift. You know weddings can be expensive! It’s crazy how one small decision can change your life.

When I first saw Linda alive on Visitor's Day, I just wanted to hold her in my arms. I got as close as I could, and saw she was wearing the Sheriff’s badge now. I always knew she’d step up in a time of crisis.

Then I learned from her that I lost my brother, Freddy. The pain you feel from losing a loved one is indescribable. And it’s even worse when you have so many questions that are left unanswered… because the authorities won’t let us anywhere near the Wall now. I’m hoping the Hounds can help me get the real story.

The one thing this Dome can't take away is my faith and belief that everything will be okay again. I'm taking it day by day and just trying to stay positive. I believe I'll be reunited with Linda. I believe we’ll have our dream wedding. And I’ve got to believe there’s life after the Dome. If you lose your faith, what do you have left?

It doesn't look like Rusty is going to have that dream wedding with Linda.

Re: Stephen King's Under the Dome - Season 2 Discussion - CBS

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tome
the tome of a fateful dome,
that started from this egg shaped pill,
in land called Chester's Mill.

The mayor was a salty killin' man,
the Sheriff brave and sure,
five strangers arrived in town that day,
followed by many more,
MANY, MANY more.

The weather started getting weird,
the tiny dome had dropped.
If not for the courage of the fearless crew
Chester's Mill would be Lost.
Chester's Mill would be Lost.

This town's got more than an
uncharted desert isle
with Gilligan,

the Skipper too.

The millionaire and his wife,

the movie star,

the professor

and Mary Ann,

here on Gilligan's Isle. Uh, I mean ... here Under the Dome!

Shouldn't there be a No Mans Land outside the dome from when that MOAB was dropped?

That happened at least three days ago, almost an eon in Dome time. The writers can't be expected to keep track of every single detail.

Big Jim is a pretty good stand-in for the Skipper.

Yeah, since then there's been cage fighting, attempted hangings, killer butterflies, acid rain, a psychotic science teacher, a swine flu plot, the lamest riot ever, a never-ending coffee supply, ONE woman who has single-handedly saved the entire town for 2 MONTHS with food her survivalist husband stored in their living room, a girl hatched from an egg, DJ Phil with numerous jobs and miraculous healing abilities and a mysterious locker portal... just to name a few of the happenings in the wondrous dome

They totally forgot about that LAST season, but yes - there should be nothing but desolate wasteland around the dome. (And for those saying that's on the 'other' side of the dome - the dome's impenetrable structure would have caused the damage ALL AROUND the dome, due to the shockwave).

I bet we could make up the most ridiculous plot lines and no one that does not watch would have no idea it was fake.

I really don't like the incest angle. I mean Barbie's dad being a part of it and of course all of Big Jim's family is part of it. The worst storyline of all of 24 was Jack's dad and brother.

Don't you feel an aching loneliness in your heart? The Dome forgives all that accept its truth. Julia Shumway is calling like a siren to the Dome's rocky shores.

An avid animal rights activist, Shumway is a national spokesperson for the Best Friends Animal Society and their “Puppies Aren't Product's" campaign, which educates and encourages people to rescue animals rather than buy them. If you don't watch, you hate puppies. Why do you hate puppies?

Everything said in this thread is completely factual and honest. Dome people do not lie.*

*Not including Junior, Big Jim, Rebecca, Dj Phil, Angie, Sheriff Linda, Lesbian Mom #1, Lesbian Mom #2, Norrie, Joe, Melanie, Duke, Dwight Yoakam, and Barbie

Challenge accepted! I just finished watching episode 8: The Awakening.

Those of you who have not been watching ... which of these plot lines actually occurred, and which did I make up?

Plot line #1 -- Shoot 'em up and wake 'em up -- Lyle (the psychopathic Barber Of Domeville) holds all the of the answers but he is catatonic. The doctors have said Lyle does not qualify for an experimental "anti-catatonic" drug trial. Pauline (the "dome fortune-telling artist" who resides in a psyche ward) realizes her brother, Sam, is an EMT and suggests this qualifies him to administer the unknown experimental "anti-catatonic" drug to Lyle. Sam agrees, steals the drug, gives Lyle a random dosage, and the three of them go outside to eat yogurt on a park bench.

Plot line #2 -- Big Jim's excellent adventure -- The "George Steinbrenner" method of hiring and firing Sheriffs has not panned out well for Chester's Mill. Big Jim decides anything worth doing right must be done yourself ... Or something like that. Big Jim straps on a tin star and has fun pulling over Chester's Mill residents just so he can award them with special walkie talkies. Professor Rebecca finds a few damaged street signs in an alley and concludes the giant windmill (the one that several townspeople and Big Jim built out of street signs in the middle of a sandstorm) has been torn down by one person (whom nobody saw). Then a car catches on fire. Since Big Jim built the windmill AND sells cars, this must be a message aimed at him! Professor Rebecca informs Big Jim that 2 messages from God/Dome are just a coincidence. If a third message happens, then they can take it seriously. Low and behold, a third message occurs when ... DJ Phil knocks Big Jim out and locks him up. God-dome-it! Big Jim may be right!

Plot line #3 -- Of mice and (wo)men ... and magnets -- While further contemplating the endless chasm under the school, Rebecca Pine (Nobel Prize Winning scientist, knower of all things science-like, and high school teacher) and Julia Shumway (local beat reporter, not-so-grieving widow who is grieving her not-so-dead boyfriend, and master of exposition) discover something strange ... It appears all of the mice who are trapped under the Dome have taken up residence in the caves under the school. Rebecca decides she must study this phenomenon, and discovers the mice, like the butterflies, have been affected by the strange magnetic shifts in the Dome. She discovers this when a number of the mice cannot maintain a sense of direction and are unable to navigate a maze she built.

Which will it be? Plot line #1? How about plot line #2? Are you sure it isn't #3?

Your ideas intrigue me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

One thing Under The Dome has definitively answered to everyone's satisfaction is "How long would one need to know one’s spouse is dead before you have sex with the killer?"

I haven't seen a single episode of Season 2 but I think I know the answer based on the pic that followed your post. Otherwise, would could say? Good reading.

How would you like to receive this newsletter? Here in Chester's Mill we offer a number of ways by which you can receive your copy:

*an audio broadcast over special walkie talkies that are given to "key" subscribers

*paper copies will be delivered by wrapping them around paperweights and chucking them into the endless chasm OR by carrier butterfly

*we can e-mail you a digital copy, however our window of opportunity for this is extremely limited, so we cannot guarantee you will have the most recent issue

*not available in all areas -- some areas (near the Dome's perimeter) may receive their copies on sheets of scrap metal which will be delivered by "air mail"

JOB POSTINGS
Editor: For the sixth time in three weeks, we are once again looking for a new editor for our newsletter. Interested persons may send a resume, kill their predecessor, or simply seize the job.

Beat reporter: Our previous beat reporter seems to have gone rogue. After the tragic murder of her husband by her now boyfriend, our local beat reporter seems to be suffering from delusions of grandeur. We are looking to replace her with a quality candidate who does not possess every skill known to man.

Illustrator: We are also looking to replace our illustrator. The previous candidate worked in mediums such as finger paints and paint-by-number water colors. The successful candidate will provide visual coverage of current events not make up shit that may happen in the future.

I know of a former radio DJ with a strong sense of justice that would be a perfect reporter, once he frees himself from jail.

You guys actually make me want to start watching this shitfest again if only to be in on all the jokes. Seriously, Under the Dome should have been paired up with Revolution. That could have been the best comedy block on television.
