It's a shame they wrote Paxton off the show, but as someone speculated he probably would have cost too much as a semi-regular cast member.
Keeping Ward around feels off, it's not the direction I would have chosen. Now that his surrogate father is gone, I assume they will attempt to integrate him back into the gang at some point after some kind of emotional growth. It's a pretty common Mutant Enemy storyline but one that doesn't feel as natural in the Marvel Universe with Ward being an unrepentant killer.

Hated Fitz at the start of the season but man, he turned out to be my favorite character. From his team up with Ward, his reaction to the Hydra revelation, his EMP moment, and his heartbreaking reveal to Simmons, he had the most growth through the year. Hope he's alright.
Also, big ups on Triplett being a regular.

Does the actor for Fitz possibly have some outside opportunity that might cause him to miss the beginning of next season? The vague comments about him at the end seemed like a way for the writers to put him on the shelf until they could get him back. A little brain damage is not much of an injury in a universe where people regularly come back from the dead.

Give the guy a break. His heart stopped beating a few episodes back. He's bound to be "Off" here and there.
Unfortunately, yeah. Wouldn't be surprised if the team's gonna have to "Loki" him for a difficult mission and, as he proved in Cuba, an entire police force won't be able to apprehend him. He'll be on the loose again.

It wasn't so much that he looked old as incredibly frail; there was a full shot of him near the end when he was talking to Coulson where he barely seemed to fit into his clothing.
Other than that, a very entertaining finale.

I wonder how they're going to restart SHIELD. How will they have any jurisdiction is it government sanctioned? Can they even call it SHIELD? That names got to toxic in the MCU now.
It would think as soon as some congressman, senator or the media here's about them they'd move to shut them down.

I wonder if Patton Oswalt's character has a different version, each one named from a different letter of the alphabet.
Is there a Walter out there?

I'm really not sure where this information comes from, and it's a wiki, so take it with a grain of salt, but the MCU wiki has Billy Koenig as Eric Keonig's twin brother, and all this other information that it cites from specific episodes, I guess this stuff was in there, but I didn't remember it:
http://marvelcinematicuniverse.wikia...i/Billy_Koenig

While growing up with his twin, Billy Koenig nicknamed his brother, "Lightning Foot."[1]
Billy Koenig was stationed in the Playground, a secret safe house belonging to Nick Fury, after the battle of New York. Agent Koenig named the place himself.
While his twin, Eric, spent two years living in Providence, Billy communicated and played online games with him.[2]
When Agent Phil Coulson and his team arrived at the Playground, Agent Koenig greeted him enthusiastically. Coulson's team stared at him bewildered, believing he was Eric. Billy stopped their confusion by introducing himself and letting them know that he knew his brother was deceased.[3]

Yeah, when he and Coulson are having their private conversation in Koenig's office, he mentions that he and his brother have logged a lot of time on Call of Duty since he'd been stationed at Providence.

I really, really don't like Patton Oswalt hanging around. I guess he eventually becomes a regular in the movies as a back-up replacement for Coulson.

I'm guessing that Skye's trojan horse allowed her to access Deathlok's software.

Skye gained access to Cybertek's communication software when they hacked Hydra's computer network at the beginning of the episode.

Good finale, but every scene with Sam Jackson looked like it was shot not to expose him to TV actor cooties.

Loved the finale, ended up really enjoying the season as a whole after I felt that a good chunk of the first half was...not good.
Looking forward to where the show is headed.

Did you miss the part where he said he was pretty much dressed as a homeless man as part of some disguise he was using?

The condition of his clothing was irrelevant, it was how he looked in them. His voice also sounded a little on the thin side to me as well. It's a small matter; I'm hopeful that Mr Jackson is hale and hearty and that it was all in my head.

you'd think you'd pick a better model for an LMD.
FInally watched this last night. Really liked it, i thought it was a good ending to the season. Loved the garrett stuff, loved Fury showing up (and aside from Jackson standing next to coulson during the garrett scene, is there any other scene where is in frame with another actor?), loved the May/Ward fight scene, and really loved the scene with Fitz/Simmons underwater. Yes, some stuff was cheesy, but there's cheesiness in every MCU production.
Overall, the season rates a solid B for me. C for the first half, A for the second half. I hope it keeps the momentum.
Edited to add - Jackson was in frame with Na and Gregg during the last scene.
