Liked the return of the destroyer gun.

Seeing May nail Ward.

Garrett's ninth life ending.

Sam Jackson does look old - finally. Although the makeup probably had something to do with that.

Triplett's use of the noisemaker was great, too.

That last bit was very Whedon.

At first I was thinking we all know he is not really dead which then went into thinking would they really deal with him again next season.

Then bam!

Game over man! Game over! I'm going to miss Paxton.

So Skye's father is??? Who just sits around dripping blood? Maybe it'll be the real Mandarin.

This was a pretty good final to the season. They are really dragging the Skye story for all its worth. Flower lady is a monster, Skye is a monster, Ward might become a monster and monster daddy or maybe monster mommy knows about Skye.

The only minor thing I didn't like was the escape from the cube. They mention they'll have to worry about the bends but never do anything about it.

How did you miss Simmons in the decompression chamber on the plane?

When I saw Garrett coming back to life, I did the mother of all eye rolls and lost faith in this show completely. Then WHAMMO, and my faith returned in spades (although I will miss the character).

Good episode, good finale, the show has improved so much over the season.

I stayed with the show throughout the entire season and didn't really comment along the way because others had pretty much summed up my feelings. The show got significantly better from a story point of view but I still feel that the main characters and the acting bring the show down a notch. If this show didn't have the Marvel attachment, it would have been the next Firefly.

Really entertaining finale.

Congrats to director Coulson. I have to wonder if Clark Gregg will have any sort of presence in the next Avengers movie now that he's the new director of SHIELD.

Loved May beating the shit out of Ward.

I also thought Elizabeth Henstridge did an amazing job in that scene with Fitz and Simmons. Very emotional and believable scene between them.

Fucking loved that last scene with Garrett getting zapped by Coulson. Great humor.

They wrapped most of this seasons storylines quite well and have left things open for a few new ones next season. Definitely one of the most improved shows creatively this season.

Re: Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D -- Season Finale -- "Beginning of the End" -- 5/13

Gave up on the show, watched the episode that aired after Cap came out, and stopped watching again. Figured I'd give the season finale a shot though.

Overall I liked it. The show does seem like it's gotten better but it still hasn't fixed my biggest problem with it. That being that every character besides Coulson and May suck and seem to serve no purpose other than to look pretty Though the black guy who isn't J. August Richards was pretty cool.

I thought the finale was pretty good though and I'll give season 2 a shot but it's far from must see TV for me like Arrow is.

I almost yelled at the tv, "C'mon, you NEVER leave the bad guy alone. Even if dead!"

I thought the characters got considerably better and while I wouldn't say there was a whole lot of character development, only picking and choosing one or two episodes is going to give you a far different impression then watching all of them, or even the last 10 or so. I just can't imagine forming an opinion on this show by just watching 4 or 5 scattered episodes and losing out on a lot of the cool bits and how the story actually progresses.

Some characters like Skye still kind of suck, but missing out on the entire Ward turn or seeing Fitz and Simmons actually do more then spew science over the entire season made a big difference for me.

So is this season worth watching through? I stopped somewhere midseason, around the Thor tie in (mainly because I hadn't seen Thor yet).

Very much so, I think most would agree that you stopped right about where the show actually started getting really good.

Agents of Shield goes into Season 2 as the new show from 2013/2014 that improved the most during the course of the season. The most improved show on TV went from utterly mediocre to awesome in about 15 episodes. Love it.

Can't wait for Season 2!
I agree with all of this! I'm also very nervous about them not showing Fitz at the end of the ep. He's one of my favorite characters. I hope they don't do something lame to him.

Really glad they didn't try to redeem Ward. Though I am sure he will be involved next year. And for everyone saying Skye doesn't look Asian, well even her character is Asian, so there

When the ramp was slowly opening to reveal Simmons, I was hoping when it fully opened we'd see Fitz laying on a gurney or something.

There's some serious peaks and valleys. Even after it showed an uptick in quality, there's still a few dud episodes. Overall though, I'm glad I stuck it out. I'll definitely be tuning in next season.

Watched the whole season and enjoyed it for what it was...a comic book "Agency" TV show.

But, the last 4 or 5 shows really entire season better.

Last night's show was the best of the season.

Wrapped up a lot of the threads, action, relationships, humor...setup for next year (and for Avengers 2).

Really fun year watching the show, will buy on BR.

so did anyone else notice how weirdly shot that scene with coulson and fury against garrett and deathlock was? they never showed fury with garrett. not even in a wide shot. it leads me to believe they shot the fury and coulson thing separately, and then just spliced it together with garrett's part on the other end. i only noticed it because of how disjointed it was.

garrett's demise was fucking fantastic.

the patton oswalt cameo at the end was unexpected.
