That show just about killed what little faith I had in the federal government, state and local governments, corporations, and human beings in general. The funny thing is, Treme was a far more upbeat series than The Wire or Homicide: Life on the Street! No more David Simon shows for quite some time.

, I should've read more carefully when I bought it, but streaming was nascent enough that it didn't occur to me. And since it's region-free modded, getting another would be an expensive prospect. Read the fine print, that's the moral to this story :headshake:. Between that and the regrets I'm having about my new plasma, I'm getting worried... Simon actually talks very little about his shows in interviews, it's nearly all about his social agenda, and man, does he have one.

The past two days, I went through the S1 episodes of Elementary on Netflix. I have to admit, when I first watched this show, I thought it was "The Mentalist 2.0" but I have to give credit to the show's producers, writers and actors, in order to give us a revisionist touch of the Sherlock Holmes stories. Mind you, is not as great as Sherlock, but I will continue unto S2 of this show.

I didn't get through as much over the holiday break as I had hoped to.
Finally watched The Pacific, then launched through the current season of Agents of SHIELD (didn't even go back to catch up on S1). Hit a run where I didn't watch much at all, then binged through season 2 of The Following over the last few days.
Last year I tore through all four seasons of Spartacus, both seasons of Rome, and a bunch of movies.

For reviewing purposes, I had to binge Black Sails: Season One. Recommended for fans of pirates, I think it was Starz' attempt at making their own Game of Thrones series. I could quibble with the lead female character having a far bigger role in the 1715 setting's complex power dynamics than history would warrant, but except for some meandering in the middle of the season is fairly solid entertainment. The episodes do run too long at nearly an hour.

That's a shame as I prefer it to Sherlock (though that show greatly improved in season 3).

I knocked out much of "The Americans" S1 since the new year began.
Really enjoying it. Keri Russell is a stone cold badass with a case of the hotness.

NCIS: Last 7 episodes from current season. Will be caught up by tonight.
Next will be the last 4 episodes of NCIS New Orleans and then Blue Bloods last 4 episodes.
As you can probably tell, I've been on an insane CBS procedural marathon over the last week.

Nice to see people catching up on The Americans, really underrated imo. I've watched 6 of the 8 eps. of Broadchurch. Enjoying it a fair bit more than Gracepoint, even having seen that one first.

Just started re-watching The Office, since I stopped around the 4th season or so I think?

Just got done Outlander, Season 1, Part 1, and really enjoyed it, but its not for everyone. Just started House of Cards, as I only watched the 1st episode but its looks like its as good as advertised.

I binge on MASH when I visit my parents...watched 9 episodes over a three day period, still love the show even though I have seen each episode at least 3-4 times each (and that is a conservative estimate).

Couldn't sleep last night and watched about 5-6 eps of season 4 of Falling Skies (via Amazon Prime Video)... I honestly wish it were better.

Blue Bloods
Finished the last 5 episodes of the current season. Now caught up for Friday's new episode. It's actually the 100th episode and judging by the preview looks pretty cool.
