Tarantino is just mad he had to sit through that shit even after the terrible reviews.

Fuller did make the show a bit more bearable but his contribution in season One, IIrC, was pretty small. Didn't he write The Company Man?

NO NO NO.
I will not be watching this.
I think it was a few episodes into season 3 where I declared myself out on the show.

I also stopped watching a little into S3. Boy the show really sucked.
I wonder what someone had to do to bring the show back?

Hopefully they've had enough time to get their sh!t together. I honestly wondered whether the writers watched the show or even talked to each other. Things made no sense from one episode to the next.

Re: NBC renews Heroes for 5th season coming in 2015 - Heroes Reborn
I liked Heroes, so I was happy to see the news. I'm in the camp that really liked S1 until the end of the last episode. After reading this thread, it's coming back to me that I was often frustrated with subsequent seasons. Still, I plan to watch this and hope it'll be good.
When Heroes was good, it was really good. I still remember a scene in a parking garage where one of the characters froze all the water droplets coming down from the sprinkler system. That scene in HD was a beautiful visual. The strongest things about the show had to do with superpowers discovery. There was initially a lot to like about Hiro. Time travel, permanent power absorption, and an inability to let go of Sylar (understandably) were indeed big missteps. And whatever was going on with the Carnival.
I'm liking the concept of these little limited run dalliances. We'll see how the execution pans out.

Wasn't the original plan that got scrapped supposed to follow different characters each season? Maybe they'll dust that idea off this time around. With 13 episodes we should get tighter plotting vs a 22episode season. As much as I disliked much what the show became post-season one, I'll be cautiously optimistic about this.

Once more NBC proves just how utterly incompetent they are. Horrible decision, one reeking of desperation. This is the show no one was clamoring to have returned. To think of all the other shows that could be brought back, literally any single other show ever, and... this?
Then again, this is from the same idiots who have nuked their own network, under the same umbrella which will be bringing us Sharknado 2... because the people demanded it! The creative minds destroyed this show with historic rapidity and completeness, and aware of their plight and granted exceptional leniency by the network, had no fewer than *three* seasons to repair it, three transformations and new directions over three years, almost getting worse as time went on.
Fail.
And I do mean fail - this will be a disaster. Epic disaster. How do I know? Marvel is a powerhouse now, with both film and TV. Marvel, owned by Disney, which owns ABC, which is a direct competitor of NBC. So what do these absolute idiots do? What do they name the show, out of all possibilities including continuing to just use Heroes? They name it Heroes Reborn - Heroes Reborn being a hallmark event in Marvel Comics, which sought to totally transform major properties (Avengers and F4) using some of the biggest names in the industry. It was 15+ years ago, but it was also one of Marcel's biggest publicity stunts of all time for their comics.
Oh, and it also went down as probably the biggest failure of all time in comics, too; certainly one of the most universally reviled. People *hated* it, and it failed ridiculously fast for such a huge event, canceled in just one single year. Naming it Heroes Reborn is about as bad a sign as you can get for something which has no scripts and is still over a year away.

I watched the entire series. I mean, I hate watched everything after season 1. So I will watch this. Good thing that I have forgotten all the plots.

With the storyline so convoluted the first go-round, the only way this could even potentially work is to go with all-new characters (with maybe guest shots and cameos from the original cast to tie into the universe). The original idea of ordinary people with extraordinary powers was a good one, but they pretty much blew that up by the end of season one. So they kept trying to go bigger, more epic, but it just got more preposterous and ended up detaching me from the characters. I gave it a shot through a few of their semi-reboots, but eventually enough was enough.

I remember one of the big disappointments with Heroes is that it didn't follow the original vision which was to bring new heroes in and out of the series, without having any "regulars." Then the show got so big so fast they didn't want to kill anyone off and it was the same good guys and same bad guys battling all the time.
I think a 13-episode season is perfect for this and will give me reason to try it out....but I'm not putting up with anything lower than Season 1 quality this time around. Don't want to waste my time.

at thinking Marvel has some ownership of "reborn."
Similarly odd is to use the words "Marvel," "TV," and "powerhouse" in the same sentence. As reviled as the show became many still held out hope based on the promise season one had. I have more than a few people on Facebook looking forward to this. This my not be as poor a decision as we think.
Masi Oka has a small role Hawaii 5-0.

I thought season 1 dragged a lot in the middle (and ugh, Mohinder's cluelessness), but it ramped up in the end as the plotlines came together; even if the finale wasn't everyone's cup of tea, it was satisfying enough.
I don't think Hiro's powers cost too much in special effects, but both he and Peter (and really, Sylar) were way too powerful, and it was almost comical how many times they had to neuter each of them over and over and over again. Go with new characters and/or save up some money for a budget. Just don't go with the non superpowered agents in a world of superheroes to save money.
Edited to add: Mohinder's also on Beauty and the Beast. Hey, it was on in the background last week and I was surprised to see him, honest!

So I stopped about 3/4 of the way through season 4. Yes, I had watched every episode to that point, then with just a few more languishing on DVR I never got around to it and they got deleted. So I tried to find a summary to see what I missed, and found that while every other season has a wikipedia page, apparently nobody in the world had enough of an interest to do one for season 4. Then I see that the carnival guy's plot devolved into straightforward destruction and everything fell apart.
They could do some cool, Days of Future Past (though not that dramatic) type of stuff with Hiro if they wanted to reboot, but I don't think the IP is really strong enough for them to recover it.
