American Horror Story. While I've enjoyed Asylum and Coven, it didn't deserve any of the awards/nominations it received.

To be fair though, the set up for the show allows it to be considered a mini-series. If it were considered a regular drama I don't think it would get any award attention save for Jessica Lange.

She was a hugely popular character in the comics and has some built-in cool because she's a chick walking around with a huge samurai sword, but she's been a terrible character on the show itself. The writers apparently acknowledged that and definitely have been writing her differently this season.

Modern Family - it has never been funny. Not even a little bit.

I had never watched it, but once it hit syndication I caught an episode or two and found it completely unfunny. I wasn't feeling it at all. The Middle is a much better family oriented sitcom.

I always planned to check it out, but any commercial for it with Sophia V... has kept me away. I don't think I could take a whole episode of her. Watching her on SNL was hard enough. Does she yell every time she speaks?

Modern Family is pretty damn funny, especially when compared against other network comedies. The thing that never made sense to me about it was ABC plays it like it is a "family" comedy. Generally speaking, it is not (but it is a comedy, about families) but that didn't stop them from pairing it up with actual family shows like The Neighbors (all-around weak), Suburgatory (pretty decent) and The Middle (love the cast, but not particularly funny).

I think MAD MEN is pretty overrated. Don't get me wrong, the actors are great and the episodes are well-directed, but I find none of them particularly 'rewatchable'. It's a good show, but I've never thought it was a great one.

Bite your tongue...if anything, it's underrated here in America. It took the 50th Anniversary and a lot of fanboy passion for the media here to even NOTICE the show. In my opinion, it's finally getting the attention it deserves.

It's also a show that pretends to takes itself seriously and be realistic, but then ignores logic whenever it is plot convenient. That's infuriating to me.

And please don't say "how does a show about zombies claim to be realistic?" You know what I mean.

you did better than me. I have this whole season recorded and haven't watched any of it. I might wait until the whole season has aired and then marathon through it

Newsroom. Pompous self-importance doesn't begin to cover it. Homeland and some of the others in the poll are definitely overrated, but at least they are watchable. Newsroom is not.
