meh.... I think the major problem with the new Family Guys are that they've fallin' into a formula. Think about it... the old ones had cut away jokes once in a while that left you laughing on the floor (come on the first time you saw "oh no, oh no, oh yeah!!!") but now all Family Guy is is those cut aways. It's become annoying and stale. Sure me like em, but don't don't just give us only them Seth! Storytelling and plot is still important.

How does "shaved leg" rhyme with "Allen Funt"? Oh... now I get it.

LorenzoL 01-09-06 06:50 AM

There were two bits that I found really funny, the rest was average at best even with the Star Wars parody:

1) when Chris ran out from Meg's closet with the digital camera followed by Quagmire a little later.
2) When Peter was trying to be racist and said something along the line of "Whole lotta of honkies".

Gotta love the way they worked in the old Oak Ridge Boys song, Elvira. Peter throwing Stewie at Brian had me cracking up too.

Seth Mcfarlane must really have a thing for Jessica Alba. Both shows last night had a sexual reference to her.

the thomas edison bit was great...so was john goodman...

also were those two camera guys in that one seen suppose to be the guys who made the movie American Movie??? http://imdb.com/title/tt0181288/

I noticed that too. Can you blame him though? I had a thing for her way back (still do) when she was on Idle Hands and Dark Angel. Good to know the rest of the world eventually caught on. :)

I thought there were some really funny parts in this episode, most of them early on though. The part when Peter threw Stewie to get away from Brian had me rolling too. So did the John Goodman bit and Peter trying to be racist.

The 2 guys helping Q tape, were they suppose to be those 2 idiots that made that low budget horror film that got a lot of attention a couple of years ago?

Holysmoker 01-09-06 01:45 PM

I thought it was good and really funny. Especially when Lois planted that kiss on Meg's new lesbian friend.

deadlax 01-09-06 02:34 PM

The two guys in the closet were definitely the guys from American Movie, one of the best documentaries of all time.

didn't alba appear in an episode early in the series (as a live action cuttaway?)

I find it funny that The Simpsons and South Park make fun of Family Guy when neither of those are worth a crap anymore.

At least Family Guy has a few good crude jokes every episode.

and best line being: Stewie: You still working on that novel.....for about 3 years now....got a compelling protagonist....

That joke again? It's been done at least twice.

I liked the teddy bear jumping in front of the bus.

I believe that was Alyssa Milano that appeared in live action.

Being a former supermarket cashier, I found the bit about the express line funny... namely because it's true.

Me too. Working at grocery stores have made me hate the human race more than I already do. :)

I forgot about that! Okay FYI - that was "Funshine Bear", one of the Care Bears:

Funshine Bear is the Care Bear's class clown. This playful bear really knows how to be funny and to have fun. Funshine Bear works hard to make sure that people have a good time. "Enjoy each day" is Funshine's motto and it's shown on the bear's symbol—a smiling sun!
And he commits suicide instead of being with Meg. Genius!

I dunno why I found the H. Tubman + Gwenyth Paltrow sculpture so funny, but dammit, I'm still laughing.

"You're my asian Lois!"

Brain Stew 01-29-06 08:14 PM

I am not a fan of musical comedy.

RUSF18 01-29-06 08:15 PM

This episode would be great without the football scenes.

RichC2 01-29-06 08:16 PM

^^ I'm in agreeance.

The Infidel 01-29-06 08:17 PM

I was in a production of The Music Man back in college, so I found Peter's full-length performance of "Shipoopi", complete with choreography, especially hilarious. I'm still laughing.
